Things to notice, New pictures of the two lands "Cocoon" & "Pulse".

The Story So Far: The technologically advanced society of "Cocoon" Is protected & prospers from the essences of "The Crystals". There's a virus, An infection dawned upon the lower world of "Pulse" That's ravaging & Causing civil war in the homeland.

A rebel leader named simply as Codename "Lightning" Fights to rid the virus & Stop Cocoon from harvesting the society of Pulse. Lightning is branded a "Traitor against Humanity". This is the story of Final Fantasy XIII. The other story is Versus, A rouge prince who's name is yet unknown fights to protect the last Crystal from the grasps of Cocoon, But finds out a rebel leader is deystroying the lands of Pulse in the process & Is threatening the very life of everyone & everything for her cause, This unknown hero along with his group of friends go to stop Cocoon, And Lightning.

You play both sides. Lightning & The Unknown Hero. You progress the story to find out if what Lightning is doing is wrong or right, And if so you must face the consequences.

The scans, Show the world of Pulse, Cocoon in the sky, The Prince & His Group, Lightning, New Summons: Ifrit,Siren & Carbuncle. New villains, New allies & Even more clues, We haven't even seen yet.

This is the world of Final Fantasy XIII, Slated to have about 6 Games in it's title to progress the story, XIII is the Lord Of The Rings of Final Fantasy, As the developers say.

The longest engrossing storyline of Final Fantasy history, Dwarfing Final Fantasy VII by a longshot.

I can't freaking wait.

Yeah I saw these scans few days ago, wondering what vehicles(if any) Ifrit, Siren, Carbuncle(and of course other summons) turn into, since Shiva turns into a motorcycle.

Too bad we'll never get Agito outside of Japan since it's cell phone only, but I can't wait for XIII and Versus, and other titles, though they haven't announced any yet.

Yeah Agito would be pretty cool, but to bad we can't have it here in NA.

That's Siren, not Shiva, Shiva can be seen in older scans though :P
Edit: Just noticed she's in the new scan as well with the other summons, just as her motorbike form.

I like Siren's looks though, but it's just a small pic plus only can see part of her, I wanna see it in motion.
Carbuncle is cute though, like old ones, just funnier with a clown frillneck thing.

And Nomura promised a playable demo of FFXIII, just when nobody knows, probably in a year >>

In the feature, we're reintroduced to everything we know about the main entry in the FFXIII franchise. We've already heard about Cocoon, a floating colony world created by crystals. Cocoon protects its millions of citizens through technology and mechanization. It contrasts with Pulse, the natural world which lay below it. The residents of Cocoon fear Pulse.

Regarding these two conflicting worlds, Famitsu reveals that Pulse, while not mechanized like Cocoon, has crystals itself, although their role is unclear. The magazine also reveals what appears to be a resident of Pulse, a pigtailed young woman whose name we've yet to learn. This girl was first introduced in the latest installment of the slowly expanding FFXIII trailer, which was shown at the Jump Festa event late last year.

A CG scene in the magazine's screen shots shows pigtail girl standing on a cliff looking out over a distant landscape of Pulse. Below her, large, tusked dinosaur-like creatures herd through a river valley. Above her in the distance, looking somewhat like a moon, Cocoon floats in the cloudy daylight sky.

The magazine also makes first mention of two types of creatures in the FFXIII world: Farsi and Lusi. The Farsi are supernatural beings who built Cocoon. Their relationship with the crystals is unclear. The Lusi are people who were chosen to carry out particular orders from the Farsi. The exact details of those orders are also being kept a secret for now.

Famitsu speculates that the previously introduced main character, Lightening, is a Lusi, as she has been chosen by the crystals as "the enemy of humanity who will bring about the downfall of the world." Incidentally, Lightening is not her real name, meaning we still don't know the names of any of the FFXIII characters. The magazine also speculates that pigtail girl and the male character who sports a bandanna in previous trailers are also Lusi.

Past trailers have introduced us to one summon, a version of Shiva which transforms into a motorcycle. The latest Jump trailer, and week's Famitsu as well, offered a first look at Ifreet and Carbuncle, the latter being a cute creature that should be familiar to Final Fantasy series veterans. The trailer showed Carbuncle emerge from a large laserdisc-like disc when the pig-tailed girl took the disc in her hands. It's unclear if these two new summons will, like Shiva, transform into vehicles.

Summons appear to have a major role in the game. They will be used outside of battle and as part of the story, as shown in the bike transformation sequence from past trailers, where Shiva comes to the assistance of bandanna guy.

The article closed off with the promise of a first real look at Final Fantasy XIII running off the PlayStation 3 sometime later this year. Looks like the trickle will become a flood shortly that will hopefully contain actual character names so that we can stop saying bandanna guy and pigtail girl.

To you maybe, you should see the video with her and her morphing into motorcycle form :P I don't like Ifrits looks much in this, but I'd rather see it in motion first.
