yay -_- stupid Square needs to stop diverting shit from this game to other areas. I don't think it'll be as good as Xenogears, but it sounds like what happened WITH Xenogears. Basically Xenogears could have been even better if given the full attention it deserved... but nooo that was not given enough attention and so was eventually forced to be released unfinished. I see this happening to Versus too at this rate and that makes me sad since Versus was supposedly going to have a more action style RPG system akin to Kingdom Hearts.

Edit: Also, I have no idea how I missed this gameplay footage of the game o.o but it looks like KH style kinda action packed RPG goodness after all :D

... that's exactly what they're -not- doing with Versus, it says. Letting it rush out. Instead of rushing it out, they've kept it on the back burner, letting it soak in all the oils that way when they do turn their full attention to it, it already taste good, it just needs a few more side ingredients (herbs, spices, salt, pepper, etc.). If they were not giving this title their full attention, or worse, trying to rush it, they would be pushing to finish it right the hell now with whomever they could throw on it.

And the obvious, of course it wont be near as good as Xenogears; Square Enix quality =/= Squaresoft (Square EA) quality

It sounds like it's being ignored for the most part by the company and I fear as soon as people get sick of the way they'll make them rush it out before it's done :( that's what I meant.

And so true.

Eh, looks like they got it on the slow sizzlin' to me. Being from Texas, I'm quite OK with that. The fact that it looks like it does now, at this point, should make you happy. For a game to be on the back burner for, really, not too long, it looks great.

I'm worried it'll be like Duke Nukem.

That or the way of FFXII... worst FF to date...

Pssh, II and XII are awesome, XII is in my top 5, and II is yes the black sheep, but I do enjoy it.

XII in someone's top 5...

FF2 says hi.

2 was fun for the sheer amusement of abusing the mechanics imo <3

FFXII is still worse imo :| I genereally love Tactics' world, but FFXII just felt unfinished and bland. For what I can say is fact, half the cast was pointless (Vaan and Panelo were pointless and Fran was just fanservice), the other half only one of them was important the entire game (Ashe was the only truly important, Basch got some development and was important in the earlier parts of the game, Belthier important sorta for the later parts). As for what I'd say is more opinion: Music wasn't really great (most felt bland to me and not very FF), the story was so Star Wars and even then didn't feel well fleshed out or very much at the forefront of the game like other FFs, the combat system was a real dull system. Just an MMO offline :( the character progression wasn't very great to me (but it seems a LOT more improved in the "International Edition" when they added the Zodiac Job System or whatever it was) and ya.

It wasn't a FF I enjoyed much even while playing it through :\ I will say that what I did enjoy for the most part was running around its world and exploring. It got that down. And some monsters were really cool looking, but felt very reskin-tastic (more so than other FFs). Ah well.

But this is about FF Versus XIII :O still looking forward to that. And I wonder what's going on with the PSP entry for the FFXIII saga. Did it get pushed toward Vita (which could be cool) or is it on track for PSP still or wha?

Oh ya!! http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/jimquisition/3700-Two-Rules-For-Square-Enix this guy and his two rules for SE. I think they're good rules XD

FF12 was still a fun game to actually play, even if it wasn't what I wanted/expected from a FF. 2 was painful to play. I said fuck it by the final dungeon and jumped ahead to the final boss on a friend's file to get it over with.

October 13th in Japan. SE set the date at their playable demo debut event for the game last week, so you should be able to find plenty of gameplay videos up by now.

oh cool :D I'm gonna go search.

Yeah but its not part of the XIII saga anymore. It got changed to FF Type-0.

Actually it does, it's still a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series of games, and utilizes much of the same mythology as fal'Cie, l'Cie, and so on, plus some of the Gods, one reason they changed the name was they wanted to turn Type-0 into a series, so expect Type-1, Type-2, etc. down the road if it takes off.

Type-0 holds my interest much more than Versus-XIII does.

Seriously now, how many more years are we going to see the same darkly lit cutscenes of Noctis being bored before we get a release date? I've pretty much stopped caring about the game, and every time something new about V-XIII is announced, I search in vain for some hint at a release date and turn up empty.

I just don't give a shit anymore.

ya I can understand :( I really want to play Versus if it'll be like KH style gameplay though. Here's hoping we FINALLY get something -_-

This sums it up pretty well. I feel like we saw a sneak peek back in 2006 or something along those lines.
