From my experience with IGE back in EQ days I have to say that most of the virtual goods IGE sells comes from regular players who have excess inventory. The "chinese farmer" movement is fairly new (in MMO terms anyway), and those guys mostly sell through their own channels (different websites).MacMarz said:How many high lvl people seem to already have everything.. yet still must take in 10-100mil a week? Where does all that gil go I ask you? To IGE etc. of course.... Think about it.
Who's to blame though. High level characters have absolutely nothing to spend currency on, yet keep obtaining large amounts of currency, and those players feel that they should get some sort of compensation for the time they spend being bored in game. Since there are no in-game compensation they can get, and since they are not willing to quit, they sell currency.
