I Don't know if anyones heard this yet, but what the hell.

Yes, the Japanese are getting another International version of a FF game...

http://www.ff12-europe.com/

What beats me is this...

WHAT EXTRAS DID WE GET FOR THERE TO BE AN INTERNATIONAL VERSION?!?!?!

From what I've seen from playing the EU FFXII, which would usually be packed full of extras, There doesn't seem to be anything different when compared to the Japanese FFXII. The only difference between the FFXII region games is the US Omega Mk XII health.

Anyways, onto the Extras the Japanese get:

Job Boards - Yes, license boards for specific jobs. so basically, they get TWELVE boards.
New Items
New Events
New Scenes
New abilities
and so on...

I Certainly hope we can get this in the US/EU, if not, I'll be upset with the fact of having to shell out the money to buy a JP PS2, and the game, and adapters to make sure it doesn't mess up my Electrical system at home...

anyone wanna discuss?

Just buy Magic Swap Disc. That way you can play JP games without chipping your PS2, or buying a new PS2. Costs like 30 bucks at your local chipping store.

Just say "fuck Square Enix" and <3 Blizzard as you should be. BLIZZARD FAVORS NONE! (sorts)

Just forget about it like I have for every international/final mix version D:

Yeah the job license boards sounds cool and all, but I don't think I would replay the whole game again just for a few extra stuff. Maybe years down the road, but not now. I still haven't beat the current version. I'm at the end and its ready to beat when I'm ready, its just I haven't gotten around to it. Doing side quest stuff which some of it is making me bored of it before beating it.

Yeah, I haven't really got that far into FFXII yet to be honest, but from what I've seen between comparing FFXII EU to the US and JP counterparts, it's exactly the same game! To Make an international version in which there was next to no differences in gameplay, story, side quests hunts (Except Yaizmat in the English localization is Yazmat, meh) between the JP and US/EU versions seems very one sided towards the Japanese players and unfair to the English speaking audiences. Chances are they'll never release it in the States or the Europe, as usual, but I wanted to get my opinion out. -.-

this is like Kingdom Hearts Final Mix kinda thing.. they are adding more side quests :\ and, I think, more scenes to help move the story along. If that's the case, that could be great. I always felt the story was a little.. hmmm. If it is more scenes towards story... I'm hoping it'll help the flow of things and maybe make it seem less jumpy at some points or make useless characters seem to have a bit more importance to the story :| development of character and story ftw <3

It just pisses me off that the versions with the most to do always stay in Japan.

Re-released RPGs have a bad track record in markets outside of Japan. For one, it costs money to add content to a game (think voice actors, all the technical whatsits, production, advertising). Then said version needs to be worked on at least thrice if it were to be released internationally (JP, NA, PAL/EU).

The costs aren't nearly as high as the production of the original game, but then again the profits will also be quite a great deal smaller. Casual gamers are cheap. They won't pay $(I have no idea how much games cost in the US, but pretend that figure is here) for a game they already own. This leaves only die-hard fans to fork out cash for the extra features. For SE (and remember they are still a company therefore capital gain is one of their goals) it makes more sense to reserve such re-releases for the Japanese market where they will be guaranteed some kind of profit as the RPG racket is much bigger over there than it is in the states.

I don't necessarily agree, but that's a basic analysis of their business decisions regarding re-releases.

I recommend contacting SE. They won't do a thing I assure you, but at least you can express your distaste. I don't know how successful Swap Discs will be if you do not know a word of Japanese. Last I heard of this release, the voice acting will be in English but the subtitles and in-game text are Japanese.

Thankfully KH2 Final Mix was announced for America in early October. I'm stoked, because it's going to be released in the US with a re-done (graphically and gameplaywise) version of Chain of Memories, to be included with the new-and-improved KH2.

*drools*

Got a source for this? I thought it was all rumors that got squashed.

Ya, I think it's still rumors cause I've not seen anything about that O.o but.. who knows

ANyone find it funny how they put International on the game, but it only stays in one country.

I thought Europeans got internationals?

From my experience as a PAL gamer, SE only gave the European market FFX: International (and that was only because it took so long to convert the thing that they thought they'd just lump it with the International content to appease us).

Normally we just get PAL conversions of the NA games except with ugly black borders.

One thing I forgot to mention was that the guest characters are gonna be player controlled now instead of CPU controlled.

Really? Now Larsa can't cure-bomb me with Hi-Potions? D: That sucks.

Not sure, The website I looked at with the info on it was pretty shallow on details, we'll just have to wait and see what SE does for those lucky Japanese gamers ;_;
