Last week we were invited by Square Enix to attend the Final Fantasy XIV Pre-Launch event in Ebisu Garden Hall in Japan the 14th September, the person who would have attended was our translator SteveManly. However, he also work as a teacher in Japan and was unable to take time off for this. Fortunately, however, the entire event will be streamed live, so we can watch the event live together online. There isn't any extra benefit to going to the show, as far as we know.
There are two parts to the event, the first part is for Japanese non-gaming media and will feature slightly different content. The 2nd half would be the part that the Japanese Alpha testers are invited and will host the usual Talk Session, some announcements, etc.
Square Enix won’t have anyone from the US there to assist and everything will be in Japanese. No translators on site, etc.
According to the official Final Fantasy XIV Twitter they will report live from the event via their twitter. We'll be sure to update you on this as soon as it starts. Don't forget to follow the FFXIVCore Twitter as well.
The livestream can be seen below, but it won't start until the 14th September.
