Finally got the ring of death. Game just froze up, then it froze on loading, then it didn't even make it past the xbox logo and now it wont even turn on. 2 fucking weeks before halo 3 beta too, what abunch of shit. Gonna call up microsoft and see if they'll fix it. Its out of warranty but im gonna try the Guitar Hero cause it excuse see if that works out.

Edit: Called Msoft and its gonna cost me 139 bucks for em to fix it since my shits out of warranty. Get a new 1year warranty though, a free month of xbox live an they pay for shipping. Still pretty weak though.

Damn that sucks, Im still running on my 360 that was from release. Im so worried its just going to go to shit soon since it seems a ton of the first 360s released had tons of defects. Hopefully I get a other yr or so out of it before it goes to crap. I remember when my first original xbox broke and the stupid stores took it back. Wish I could get a newer 360 for the one I have atm.

Yeah mine was a release, never had any problems with it up until today. Was waiting for pt so figured id kill some time and BAM death.
 
My friends first gen got the ring of death like 2 weeks ago. it seems about the time most are hittin it.
 
Mines from release to and I just started getting an "Unplayable Disc" message a few times last weekend. It has stopped doing that but I'm a little worried now....
 
Mine has started to have the dvd drive stick. I'll hit the eject button and it just won't make it out half the time. If mine breaks I'm really torn on what I'll do. $139 is kind of steep imo.
 
Yeah i think im just gonna trade all my old crap in like PS2 and Xbox that i dont play anymore and get a brand new xbox, idk what to do with my xbox now though maybe see if gamestop would pay me like 20 bucks for it and they could refurbish it themselves or something.
 
So I called microsoft back and apperently my warrenty wasn't up and they are gonna fix it for free :D They are sending me the box to ship it in and everything so no charge on my side. Just get the box pop it in and send er in. The lady said it only takes 1 and 1/2 to 2 weeks only. So i figure ill just hit up like Rent-A-Center or something for a week and rent an xbox while mine is out so i can still play the beta and then i should have mine back in a jiffy.

Microsoft has done a great job in extending their warrantys to 360 owners.
