For the perfect MMORPG. Since about the release of WoW I grew tired of FFXI, despite many returns. I then proceeded to try out Guild Wars. It was short lived due to community meaning nothing and friends being in few. Back to FFXI it was as WoW was old and Guild Wars was virtually beaten. Then, again, FFXI has its toll on me and I go back to WoW for Battlegrounds....And as you probably forsaw, WoW got borring again...also, tiring. Done alas forever with WoW I return once again to FFXI and decide to suck it up and stay. Not because I enjoy the game all to much but more or less because it's stable and the only, decent at best, game out at this moment graphically (I'm big into art and visuals) and content wise. I started searching again last night for a better game. Thinking, "There has to be that one game out there for me." I threw out all the "hear say" on Lineage II and picked it up early yesterday....$15 bucks and a free month of play what the hell right? Well, as like R.O.S.E due to lack of character customization and good story I deemed it "not for me".

Now to the main point. I just want to find a game that keeps me occupied and happy like a EQ fanatic. Settle into a game and get comfortable for many years and enjoy it everyday. However, not a time sink in the same manner. Something with lore and busting with creativity graphically and content wise. Something fresh. Something with a really captive story and called for a use of knowledge to understand things... And something where the Devs really care about what the community has to say and offer. To realize we are the people they are working for in the end and go on that. Also, where the Devs are gamers themselves and have played most of the top games and have learned from their mistakes....Well, I was fed up about to say screw it maybe the MMORPG games are just not for me, despite hating single player console/PC games, minus Fable, and just forget about gaming as a whole, though I really enjoy playing with and meeting new people in MMO's. Then luckily, by an odd mis-click of the mouse, I stumbled onto the main page of a game in development titled: The Chronicles of Spellborn. After much reading and chatting I think my search has ended....hopefully, we'll see in June of 2006.

Here is the link to the main page Spellborn

Hopefully some of you people will be of interest and this isn't a total waste of a post. :D

Don't know if you'll be that interested but my friend swears by WW2 online. Devs care, big community. It is a 1st person mmo though.

Ya, not big into first person style games at all. Thanks though.

i HIGHLY suggest checking out dark and light, i would be quitting FFXI right now if my computer could play it. its only a little more powerful then FFXI, but due to a virus, my RAM is one below the requierment

Dungeons and Dragons online? Lord of the Rings online.... these popular brand mmos keep comin

Lord of the rings online will probably suck...just based on the majority of lord of the rings crap.

D&D online i don't know anything about...

Eve online is supposed to be great (although its space ship not run around on a planet), and i was going to join myself but i don't feel like starting a game thats already been going for 3-4 years...just asking for the game to end before you get half way to the max lvl.

D&D Online looks like it's going to be pretty tight. I'd like to know about what the monthly fee is going to be though, I haven't found anything on that yet.

Yes, I've checked out all of the suggested but none met what I was looking for. They weren't really innovative or didn't have a story I gave two shits about. D&L could be pretty good but the graphics, story, models, are really lame imo. It looks like a DAoC rip-off ad sounds like one too =/ D&D has pretty good graphics but I can't get into D&D stories it'll pretty much be the EQ style game ( except fighting style it looks to be the same) for the D&D fans....which arguably will probably be way worse than the WoW crowd....As far as EVE goes, it's one of those types of games that is very hit or miss. It missed me :P I like the concept but the gameplay is not really my style. I hate the mech style combat stuff and that's basically all it is but you're in a spaceship. Only two mmo's in the near future seem promising and different and that is The Chronicles of Spellborn and SE's Fantasy Earth. The only problem with FE is most game industry people are speculating it to be an Asia country release only. SE doesn't seem to happy about how FFXI turned out when they released it to the world so that one is sketchy to count on comming out.
