Wont ever happen. That and other polls like it have been circulating since it was even rumored to becoming cancelled, and its just not coming back. And if it did somehow come back, it wouldnt have the same actors, and joss wouldnt be directing it, so whats the point?

Not true every single one of the cast including Joss said they would love to make more of the series.

The chick is staring the Terminator series which has been renewed for season 2 so that might be rough.

She's kinda the lamest character anyway :D

Lamest character, but essential to the story. Also, with how the movie ended, it's unlikely to pick up anywhere anytime soon. There is some truth to the rumors that Joss wants to bring it back for a few more movies if the cast would return as well.

Joss Whedon is such a tease. He makes such amazing cult phenomenon television series, then leaves us in the dust, never to give us our brownies again.

Yes I know it's basically not his fault. I loved all of his work, and I hated to see it go.

Actually cancellation was not his doing it was fox doing. Fox has a poor poor front office don't know what they have because they don't advertise enough and place these types of shows in awkward time slots. I didn't even know about firefly till after serenity came out since then went back watch the entire showing and loved it. Another show fox robbed us of was drive.

Reading Comprehension = Typing skills??

As far as ontopic, I loved the show and the movie. Never got into it until about late last year, but once i did it was awesome. Gonna pick up Serenity when it comes out on blu ray, would get firefly if it wasnt 60 bucks D:

The film tied everything up too nicely.

Too high a body count, the series would suck as a result,

Also I never liked that Kaylee got with the doc, he was a prick.

and I was not putting the post directly to his post but stating it was not his fault fox has a long history of canceling shows that would have been top sellers if place at a better time frame.

Despite its popularity, Fox has also come under fire from many quarters, especially from fans of sci-fi/fantasy television. This stems from the perceived premature cancellation of several series which had vocal and active fan bases, but low ratings, like Firefly, Wonderfalls and Fastlane. The cancellations of animated series Family Guy and Futurama were also criticized; in the former's case, the program was picked up again in 2005, while the latter series was revived for 2008 on Comedy Central (who also acquired the rerun rights from Adult Swim on September 2007). Fox was also heavily criticized on its decision to cancel the critically acclaimed Arrested Development, which in 2004 gave the network its first comedy Emmy in many years. The show was in discussions to be picked up by Showtime or ABC, but producers decided not to pursue continuing the series.
The network's justification for canceling these programs has generally been poor ratings. Fans of these programs respond by pointing toward critical praise and dedicated core fan followings, and blame the ratings on inconvenient time slots, poor advertising or illogical broadcasting. For example, the pilot episode of Firefly, traditionally aired first as an introduction to characters and storylines, was the last episode aired by Fox. Most other episodes of Firefly were aired out of production and storyline order. Another often-cited example is the 1990s series Sliders, which faced similar problems on Fox.
In more recent years, the first two episodes of Drive were aired on a Sunday, and the third episode was aired the next day against Dancing with the Stars and Deal or No Deal. Fox canceled Drive after only four episodes and the last two complete episodes were shown online. Further inflaming fans, Fox has promised to air remaining episodes of shows and then failed to follow through on these promises.

I used to love Fastlane aswell, seeing that just reminded me of it, it was a terrible show and deserved nothing better but i still enjoyed watching it while i had the chance.

great price! I already own it but last week I ordered the special edition of Serenity.
