Firefox/IE crashes when viewing some topics

[Shakaar]

I'm at a loss to figure out what's causing this. I'll click on certain topics and *wink*, I'm back at my desktop. I'm normally on Firefox, but when I run into this problem I'll try using IE to see if it's a Firefox issue. Every time though, both browsers will crash when trying to view the problem topic. Right now Devilbruce's Flameboard topic "Watch out this WHM!!!!! Texstaz!" crashes my browsers. Anyone else having the same problems?

EDIT: This also happens on my friend's site, who uses the same script as this place. There's also a topic in this very forum that crashes my browser as well, XylisEvercrest's "Square has gone TOO FAR!!" topic.

There really isn't anything within a phpBB post that could possibly crash your browser. I mean I am not saying it doesn't happen to you, I am just saying that in terms of what's displayed, there isn't anything that would under normal circumstances cause something like a crash.

I would suggest to install the latest patches, run some AV scan, run some anti-spyware scan and go from there.

The only thing I can think of is that the browsers somehow do not like the host some of the sig images come from. But again, that shouldn't cause a crash.

Every now and then I still sneak a peek to see how QCDN is doing.
Glad it's still around, though I am a bit amazaed that people still play FFXI. Who know's perhaps I would too now that I actually have a decent connection at home, but alas, I tossed my copy way back when and I have no idea what my ID was.
