Well, i tried to open my firefox browser like usual, but i had a weird lil popup that said something like, Default user using Firefox... and i think well ok. w/e. so i hit "run firefox" and it said "Default is in use"

and well, i needed to look something up. so i just made a new one labeled default2, and opened it up, and all my plugins and favorites arent there. Which kinda makes sense when i think about it, a new user using the browser.

But how do i change it back? D: i dont know how to make that lil box pop up again. anyone know how?

(i updated my computer, you know that lil microsoft thing that pops up on the lower right of your screen every once in a while. i think that maight have caused it... but i need to change back to my original default >.>)

I had that problem happen on my old pc, and I couldn't figure it out how to switch it back for the life of me >> So I ended up just using the new one and start adding favorites I had under my old account ;(

idk how to switch users but you can goto your C:\Documents and Settings\Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles and just copy all the files from one profile to the other.

:OOOO i'll try it. thanks bro.

of course if anyone knows about the user thingy. feel free. its still good to know. lol.

yeah id like to know too. Since thers not an option called 'Switch User' under tools or files, im to lazy to look.

What happens is generally you have two instances of firefox running. THis is usually caused by one crashing and then you starting up a new instance. If this occurs:
-cancel when it asks for a new profile
- ctrl+alt+del
-Find firefox.exe and click End Process
-Restart firefox

Have you tried kicking your computer at all? that might help.

I cant find the profiles thing to copy >_< how do you get there, raider?

what he said!

Taken Directly from the site:

Create a new profile

In order to create a new profile, you use the Profile Manager. To start the Profile Manager in Windows, follow these steps:

1. Close Firefox completely (select File > Exit from the main menu of Firefox).
2. Select Start > Run... from the Windows Start menu.
3. Enter firefox.exe -ProfileManager and press OK.

On Linux or Mac, start Firefox with the -ProfileManager switch, e.g. ./firefox -ProfileManager (this assumes that you're in the firefox directory).

(This should also allow you to change default user)

I've had that problem a time or two on my lapy, but usually if you just shut down all firefox windows and reload it should be peachy.

This works every time. Happens to me now and then.

Yes acks solution works but only if you havent already created a new profile and logged in. But what ruffy said will allow you to switch back.
