:x Hey this is my first time using the flameboard. and im here to burn the shit out of a newb ass blackmage named flames. DO NOT EVER INVITE THIS KID IF UR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT CUZ IT DOES! We went to cape terrigan and on the way there he catches agro. Me being a bard and since we are close to the zone i lullaby it. Then he gets more agro and gets me and 2 other members in my pt killed. The ninja leaves cuz of this newb. Then he starts to complain that he died. On top of all of that bs when we finally got the pt going he starts wackin @ the crab with his wand and casting blizzard and thunder and stone 1. yes people 1. and when i told him to atleast stop meleeing cuz he wont have both ballad's he refused. Then when it was takin us a while to kill mobs cuz he didnt know how to nuke he said it was the dd's faults. then he began to say a taru pld cant tank. Please ladies and gents do urself a favor and blacklist this kid. Flame if u actually have an account to this i hope they delete it cuz u dont deserve it. peace.

haha sounds like a big winner that Flames is. The fact that he did not listen to you guys makes him one helluva nub.

I find that it's never smart to blacklist people. The only time I can see it being useful is to blacklist a guy for like half an hour if they spam something in shout or something. By half an hour, you can be guaranteed someone's called a GM by then. However, blacklisting people for being noobs isn't smart. If they ever want to try to resolve the issue, they can't because you can't hear them.
 
I dunno man. I played with him last night and it was fine. He even got all the MBs in. Lol, he did ask if he could melee but we said yes as long as he doesn't screw up the MB.

i lol at you, wtf you gave a blm permission to melee? how pathetic is that! him meleeing was messing up the MB know why? because he was either

A) not switching staffs
B) wearing the wrong gear
C) not gaining mp and was busy swinging a big fat stick
or
D) All of the above

Not the point. You could have killed quicker had he not been meleeing. His spells could have been resisted less and done more damage had he used equip switches. But who are we kidding here? Noobs like that don't have elemental staves anyway.

And the main point the OP was making was that the guy was not getting ballad, not resting during a fight, and casting stone1. At his level, he should have all of his tier 2 spells, and one or two tier 3 spells. By not resting and not getting ballad, he wasn't casting as many damage spells (even his gimpy tier 1 spells) as he probably could have, further lowering the xp.

Also, if you were fighting things that are even remotely good for your level, he was hitting for 5-10 damage, when he actually hit, and was giving the mob more TP. If the mobs had any defensive abilities, (and you had a slow rdm or brd) then that was slowing the xp too.

Meleeing as a BLM, especially with a BRD in the party, is always a bad idea. It won't always hurt xp, but it usually will.
