Flag up - IQ uh....down

you just have to trick people into think you dont want to pt :P

Two things...

About going afk while lfg: If you're going to be gone for more than 15 minutes, just put your flag down. You're obviously too busy doing something else to play FF. Also, remember that seeking longer doesn't mean a higher chance to get an invite after a while - if you've been lfg for 5 hours, you have the same chance to get a party invite as the guy next to you that's been lfg for 5 minutes. However, I think that being semi-afk while lfg and checking every few minutes is ok, as long as you check back often.

About inviting someone that's not lfg: alright, I'm guilty of doing this. But I always try to get someone that's lfg before someone that's not, and if your search comment says "I don't want a party", then I don't ask.

I have found this out for me. When i am seeking and just waiting there i get NO INVITES but when i am doing something(like pling a friend or lvling my npc or farming i get all the invites i need). i spent a WHOLE day just waiting and seeking not a single invite and i am a whm but lucky for my i have 4 systems and a tv by my computer. ^^

I wish SE would add an option to play a sound when you receive tells.

Flag up, volume up, go to your couch, even fall asleep, and when you get a /tell *BLEEP-BLEEP-BLEEP*, go reply. Would be an easy solution if you don't want to sit in front of your screen waiting.

Hehe I've gotten a blind invite from someone on my /blacklist once. He has probably sent me /tells before inviting, but obviously I didn't get them. Actually ending up removing him from blacklist, getting some exp, then he turned out to be an asshat after all, so back to blacklist again after party.

yup. I find this one particularly effective. Even if other poeple are actually searching, I've gotten invited before them, just for having a search message (or atleast a better search that just "I want EXP, @2000").

This is what I do:
Line 1: what sort of PTs. for me, "{JP}/{EN}{PT} ok"
Line 2: the 'where @ line'. Where is my XP at, and where can I pt.
"@20,000 {Sky}O {Bibiki Bay}O" (usually I show Bibiki to say I have CoP available, cause I don't have access to ALL CoP areas)
Line 3: misc, usually I'll use "SJ: WHM BLM" occasionally during JP time I use "watashiwa sukosi nihongo wakarimasu"
