Alright I understand the flameboard is a noholds barred area to cuss at things. Which is nice, lets people vent. However, lately all I see are PC+1 and it's really annoying to see

fit ALL your responses into one post PLEASE >< I hate seeing the same name 10 times in a row, it's really annoying and nothing but PC+1. Sure, you mighta missed something while responding.. some threads grow faster than they can be read.

I just suggest in addition to "No thread crapping" you make a limit on posts per topic per day.. or at LEAST per hour.. seeing someone spam ruins the whole post. At least make it.. hmm... 2 posts per page? something ><

if not I understand why, as I said, it's just really stupid seeing the same person posting 25 times for every 30 posts.

What about those oh-so-awesome battles back and forth between 2 people? You'd be breaking their little hearts.

I'm more concerned about seeing the same name hog 80% of a single page >< Maybe just spamming posts? Either way, just an idea to work with, anything would be fine. I mean.. just read the BoL thread (if you can stand the length) and you'll see the same name pop up 5+ times in a row! Same with the Gregor one.

I can see the point, but I don't know what can be done about it. Most replies are actual replies to previous posters quoting them and directly replying to them. It may be a PC+1 issue or it may simply be a convinience issue of not wanting to manually copy and past quotes into one big reply post.

Seems easy enough, just make that forums not count toward post count.

Yeah that's one option, but then you get people who bet on to how many pages a thread will grow ....

Think it'd be easy enough to not allow three consecutive posts in the same thread?

Alrenatively, can hire a mod or two to splice multi-posts together, but that'd take a crapton of trust on peoples' behalf.

Hey now, there's a point to that, it's just not at 50 yet as such i can't begin to enlighten people as to what it is. If it doesn't go fifty my point is moot as those were the terms. It's not something i intend to make a habit of, it is however quite relevent to the post as it relates to the business comment made earlier in the thread in question.

Who cares if somone boosts their post counts? Is post count directly linked to your e-penis size?

There are actually a couple flameboard mods.
However, at 50 posts per minute or something like that I wouldn't expect mods to read every single post.

The biggest issue is though that it shouldn't require mod intervention.
Users should be able to follow the rules as they apply, and use common sense for situations for which there are no rules. Neither me nor the mods should have to babysit users.

I agree, the flameboard is becoming a huge pile of festering ass in terms of quality. One liners/wow jokes/PC+1/circlejerking comments are fluffing up threads to the point to why even read them. The context of the thread is lost in useless bullshit as people get things so offtopic that the thread has lost all meaning. The board to me could be replaced with just one thread and allowing everyone to post only in that thread in it's current state. I can visit allakashit or gamefaqs if I wanted to read shitty threads.

If you must go nazi then do it, people who you actually want on this site will adjust and follow the rules, while those who oppose you probably don't want here anyway.

Oh my. This is concerning.

When someone is out of control, the mods let the admin know by posting something in the admin forum or PMing him.
An idea like this one makes the "report a bad thread"...or post(er) idea shine, IMO.

It's not a concern for the masses. This isn't a tree-house club. It's also not a dictatorship. There is just nothing to see here.

Discussion Forum.

Its not about that.....its about how annoying it is to see ppl bog down a flame thread with their posts (sometimes to get more post counts as sad as that is). By eliminating the ability to raise your post count on the flameboard, then you eliminate the ppl who roam those boards and post solely for higher post count. This would get rid of alot of trash in many flame threads.

Thats the path I would vote to take.

I have the highest count here, and I'm NOT roaming for PC...
Just a thought.

Another option would be for users to take advantage of the ignore option vBulletin provides. For the most part those who spam (and I mean really do spam rather than reply multiple times writing relevant content) are the same. Ignore them and it could become a non-issue.

That's a beautiful function.
Works, um, perfectly.

I'm putting Peregrine on ignore after today's tirade.
However, do find it interesting that he hasn't been dealt with in the past, and after today still is not...On an individual basis.
Others that have stepped in to smack him down have to follow new rules, or suffer a scary scary fate.
Seems like this is an old problem that's never been dealth with. People that jumped in, don't like the trash he talks and speak out against. God forbid anyone makes a comment any more though.
I think it went too far today with the rules. Maybe that's why I'm not modding that forum.

I haven't actually read any Pere posts on the FB today, PM me which one of todays, or previous ones, you feel is in violation.
