Anyways... I went to Walmart today shopping for food. I've not purchased milk in a while and saw it today... wanted it... so I went to get a gallon. When I saw the price, it just slipped... "Yea, fuck that."

The lady next to me with her kids in tow, "It's rediculous..."

I knew it was high awhile ago - like $4 a gallon for the good stuff, but Jesus -- what has happened recently to take it to $6.50/gallon.

Wait what? 6.50 a gallon for milk? Are you fucking kidding me? @_@

At my Wal-Mart it's $3.49, I know because I work there.

You must live in Canada or something.

It's $2.50/gallon at Meijer, but they lose money on milk as a way to get more people to shop there.

You've got to remember the farmers who actually make a living from sales of milk. Everyone bitches about prices, but when the price goes down, its the growers and farmers who suffer.

Which can lead to many going out of buisness and the other who stay in the buisness then begin to monopolise.

It's around $4 to $5 CND for milk here. It's 4 litres and in bags, but it's pretty much the same as 1 gallon. Behold our superior milk ways!

I'll take a picture next time. I swear to you, it was $6.50 at my local walmart for a Gallon of Mayfield 2%

Milk in a bag just sounds weird

On topic: Holy fucking shit thats expensive milk. I hope it's like milk milked out of a gold nugget for that price.

Milk in a bag is so spectacular I had to find some pictures to showcase it.

Three of these...

lol liters + milk in bags. Canada is so weird.

Zeph as citizen in the U.S. that is still a weird concept. Ours come in plastic jugs and I would think the milk would be hard to pour from a bag unless you had a pitcher to put the milk into. Of course the jug acts as a pitcher and a container so it's a win win for us .

Ninjar: How are you suppose to seal the bag after opening it? Twist tie?

I have cousins from the U.S. and I have seen your plastic jugs. They are very admirable, but I always had trouble pouring them lol.

In order to use the milk in a bag, you have to buy a plastic jug as seen in picture one. Once you have one plastic jug, there is no need to buy another one. Then you cut the corner, also seen in the first picture. That's it. It doesn't need to be resealed @_@.

However, not all milk comes in bags here in the Great White North. You can also get cartons of milk. But you can't get 4 litres ones...I think.

We have plastic jugs, cartons and bags here. Bags proved too hard not to spill everywhere for my family so we use cartons. But sadly they don't come in the handy 4L volume. And they're a little more expensive from what I remember to buy in jugs and cartons.

I see but I would think that the milk wouldn't stay so fresh for so long by just leaving it open in a bag. That's just me though.

Yes admire our amazing plastic jugs! Both milk and the booby variety although those are saliene, but the bag for the saliene is plastic!!!! /endsilliness

USA has bagged milk too. I've seen it in Maine countless times. Could be the proximity to Canada tho....

I do LOVE your Oakhurst dairy milk with like the gold cap... I don't know wtf is in it but it makes me wet thinking about it.....

Never heard of Oakhurst honestly. It could be because it's from a cow that has been fed all organic feed. Who knows I'm not a farmer. Never been to Maine nor do I plan to ever be close to Stephen King or the state he's from. That guy is just freaky lookin.
