Feedback Flameboard Guidelines

I get that "to Sculli" is still an applicable verb to some of the old-timers of the board. To say its NetNanny or CareBear-ish I don't think is fair. The majority of the site wants to see good flames, but they want to see good flames that are dumbed down to people telling themselves to "kill themselves." Aside from it being one of the more harsh attacks, it shows a sign of "I have nothing left" and gets anyone nowhere fast. Seeing a point/counterpoint/rinse and repeat argument is much more entertaining, a more provocative read and makes our site/userbase/server look better.

Too each their own I guess. I don't see any difference in "Go kill yourself" and "Go fuck yourself", one in the same. The Flameboard is a haven for insults. Also, NetNanny is very applicable to this. You're sheltering but covering that up with the facade of cleaning something up. However, that's merely a judgment call from my stance, it's not something everyone will agree on.

If anything, I like you. You stick to your guns and you won't change. There's been stuff in the past we've posted about in agreement of. (O&A, Party Rock - if you remember that one)

I don't think you're a bad guy, despite the looks of it, and I wasn't out to attack you to be mean. I just didn't agree with you, this time. It's as simple as that. You basically stepped over a line I hate, personally, to see crossed and that is it. I'd much rather get banned for a month than for someone to delete my words, honestly. However, even if I didn't like you that wouldn't stop me from agreeing with you on something good.

Yeah, I vaguely remember that but geesh, that was friggin' years ago, no? My memory is pretty pathetic.

All that said, I was just expecting a "Sorry you feel that way, I don't care" or nothing. You had to go and make it interesting. Here lately my post count is down.../nudge. That and, let's face it, I get rubbed pretty raw when something I like gets fubared. I was also trollin' for things to bitch at, since I missed the opportunity to pre-protect (I guess that works?) my lovely gaming forum... I wont slip and let that happen again.

I can definitely understand where you're coming from Strid. I don't want to be a netnanny. I'll be honest, I don't want to deal with that. Posts that are usually "die and go kill yourself" are sort of clumped into a reality bites type of category that I will have to nanny for. The main thing that I see from this is if somebody uses a post from RSI to attack somebody in the flameboard...well frankly I'm not up for that. There are some items that need not be in the flameboard.

It's mainly like Dino said. The flameboard just needs to go back to having good posts. And since I love secrets, but love making people wonder, I'll just say...BIG changes are coming in the future. :)

Eh, the Flameboard is a piece of garbage these days. Nothing is as epic as some of the things I can't remember anymore from when I played. If the Flameboard was to be deleted, I'd be fine now, no heart-attack. I just saw something coming I didn't want to trickle down and effect the entire boards. I didn't want to call someone a douchebag in the 360 forum and come back and read I was modded to callin' them a poopie face, you know? A bit of a pre-emptive strike because I still clearly remember the shit that went on with Sculli in his end, for some reason, and don't want to see things get that silly again.

The problem with the lack of spark in the flameboard is that everything has been done. LSs have stolen shit, people have hacked, people have bought and sold gold, players have ninja looted, and there is nothing new anymore. We see it and we say to ourselves "oh well, but remember back when *insert really old flame here that was good* happened"

Only thing it is there for now is for player disputes, which at the end of the day doesn't really matter to anyone not involved.
