I know this is utopic and may not work as well as theory, but i don't see the point of Rules at all in the Flameboard (Except for it being about ffxi alone). Hell it's a F-L-A-M-E board. It's here to do just that, let me rant whatever the fuck i want to rant about!

I don't get why posts get locked, or why i'm forbidden to write about whatever moron i want to cause he can't answer >.<

Well just my opinion, i don't even think we should have mods here...

The rules and moderation to the FB came shortly after Sculli's time as admin began and i assure you they were sorely needed at that time for multiple reasons .. some of which are entirely too graphic for me to go back over in my head without getting nauseated.

I can definately see your point in the current incarnation of QCDN because really the mods have it down and the user base knows there's people watching as opposed to what we had Pre-sculli which was complete anarchy in almost every section of the board FB not withstanding.

Truth be told the FB does need some moderation if for nothing else then for the community's own good and the health of the board as a whole. I do, however, think that entirely too many people worry about the language of the rules even though they know damn well what flies and what doesn't.

The only people who can say 'I didn't know' are only guilty of one thing: Not reading the rules. IMO if that's your excuse you should either be put on ROA until such time as you can read and clearly understand the rules or banned outright. Any idiot surfing for forums knows for damn sure there's a sticky like that on every board.

If consistency is your problem, get over it. Had someone been banned/suspended/read-onry'd or something i can dig. That hasen't occurred. Fuck some locks that's no more then a roll of the eyes from a mod/admin. It's just kinda sad to note the progress this place has made in the past couple years. That progress being absolutely none.

Windaria created a sock puppet a month or two ago to do her last farewell. That definitely should have been locked, but again, the mods didn't know what the fuck to do, so they sat around with their thumbs up their ass.

Consistency is a big problem. If your boss yelled at you for one thing, then let someone else do the exact same thing without a care in the world, anyone here would be a little upset.

I would have loved to dig in to peregrine and his gimp THF pal zyleia in that thread last month, but our group of morons decided at the time it wasn't ok. month later, now it is ok, well, I have nothing against vang so I don't have much to say about him, but I did about Mr get rich in game after taking over a dynamis and having a bunch of idiot members who don't know what is going on Peregrine.

It has to do with what I can or can't do. The "rules" should be enforced the same by each mod. This isn't Eli.org or Miros.org, it's QCDN.org. You can't interprt shit your own way because you have a green name, you should stick to the rules. And if the rules don't apply, you should make a decision and make a rule about it.

This same issue has been discussed for at least a year and, judging by the last few months, hasn't really been resolved.

We shouldn't even be talking about this so late into the convo, these mods should have been made a judgement and enforced it equally. But instead, over a YEAR later, there are still "misscomunications".

Simple solution:

When you lock a thread, quote a rule in it. Say you were locking a sock-puppet thread. Instead of just saying "LOL i lok dis", go with something like...

7) Sock Puppets: Should one pop up in a flame, you will be PM'd by myself or another moderator to reveal yourself to the thread - or we will do it for you. If you are not a sock puppet however, then all's well. Suspicious though that an account is made only to post in a flameboard topic, right?
