Flaming first time offenders

Ok, this is probably going to get turned on me somehow, but I might as well say what I think.

I think some people go a little too hard on the flames. Especially if someone is a first time offender.

I can understand warning fellow players about a person, but to bash on them for 30 posts (120 if your Isotope) for a small offense is just a little....cruel?

Like I said, talk as you will. (I dont expect anything less lol)
 
I pissed out the flames.
 
you do have a point... but this is the flameboards... some people cant stand for offenses, whether its first time for that person or not.. because some people may have had it happen to them before. but you are right. it would help the offenders if the flames at least beat around the bush a lil..

A lot of times where people get ragged really hard is not a first time offense. Isotope, for example. Most recent flame was definately not the first. Just ask Sneakypants.

Lol, it was funny though. Isotope started the flame against Peregrine but by the end, it was everyone vs Iso.
 
i was going against Iso in that flame.. me and Pere were doing 3 hours of pointless arguing and in the end we ending up talkin like friends... So as you see Flameboards is just words.. cant really take a lot of arguments and disagreements here serious..
 
Being new to something doesn't excuse someone from being an idiot or an asshole. If it's honestly a mistake made because they don't know due to inexperience, most people are forgiving for that. If they're just acting like an idiot, it doesn't matter how new to something you are, people won't like you.

So your saying if someone Ninja's lets say a O.Kote, and thats their first offence, that we should go easier on the,. then say someone who has been flamed 5 times for like being bad at their job?
 
Well obviously certain things deserve harsher flames. But cmon, someone who cant do their job *cough Isotope cough* shouldnt be nuked as bad as someone who took a valuable item from a linkshell.

Should someone who steals a coke from a Dairymart get the same punishment as a Rapist?

Is THAT discriminatory?
 
You have to have a thick skin for the flameboard. Sometimes ppl flame each other cause they have a difference of opinion, but in the end their still friends just cause....well thats how the flameboard goes. Its normal for everyone to be flamed at one point or another, no biggie. Only Emo's fear the flameboard ;)

No, they shouldn't; and they don't either. Most people let small stuff slide but bigger things they remember.

Exactly my point. So in comparison, which will you remember and which will you deal more harshly with:


Someone who sucks at keeping hate

or

Someone who scams you out of a rare item.
 
I agree.

People should get a second chance.
And a third.
And possibly a fourth.
And if they look sorry, maybe a fifth.

I'd likely remember both, since I wouldn't want a bad tank to be tanking anything for me. What is the purpose of this thread, anyways, to get people to admit there's degrees to messing up?
