Just have to compain about that stupid "wait 60 seconds" to go thru the different threads. Dammit Sculli can you pleaseeeee lower that. I can whip thru posts pretty fast with the comp I have and now this forum doesn't lag it's even better.

IT'S DRIVIN' ME NUTS I TELL YA!!!!

Thankee,

I am still not quite sure what you mean. There shouldn't be a delay for browsing. I assume you mean 60 second delay for posting?

Nope it's browsing hun. When I go to new posts or anything to move around with it tell me I must wait 60 seconds and then does a friggin countdown.

Could you possibly post a screenshot of that?
I will look through the settings, but I really don't remember seeing anything that would limit browsing speeds.

It's the search function isn't it?

Ohhh, searches.
Yeah, searches are computationally intensive, which is why there is a time limit on how often they can be done by each user. I am not sure if I feel comfortable to lower this number as searching increases the CPU load of the machine the board is hosted on.

Now it all makes sense. You hit the "New Posts" button, so you are really not browsing, you are searching.

Not sure if this is any help, but here is what I do when I get to QCDN.
I open each forum that has new posts into a new browser window. Then in the main browser that shows just www.qcdn.org I hit "Mark Forums Read".
Then I go through posts in the individual forums. I close the forum browser windows as I am done with them, selecting "Mark This Forum As Read" from the Forum Tools. Then I refresh the main window and it will show which forums have new posts, and I go from there as needed.

I will look into lowering the time between searches, but I will have to read up on that and see how other forums with similar user loads handle it. Don't want to lower it right away just to end up with a slow-down of sorts.

Kay Sculli np. If it screws with the board as a whole then obviously I don't want you messin' with it. But if you can lower that time, it'd be awesome for my personal benefit^^.

I'm having a little small bug here it seems. Everytime I go to write a long post it seems to, I guess kick me off. I'll log in, do my usual browsing, read a post then respond to it. But I noticed when I type something that takes awhile, then hit submit, it asks me to log in again as if I was responding as a guest, when I know for sure that I logged in before I typed what ever it is I'm typing.

Anyone else having this problem?

There is no timeout for QCDN cookies.
I would guess that either you are running some 3rd party software that makes senssions expire after a certain time, or ...., I am not sure what else the problem could be. I suggest to delete your QCDN cookies and see whether that helps any.

I looked into this, and there IS a time-out of 15 minutes for session specific cookies. Meaning that if you log in and do not check 'remeber me', then after 15 minutes of inactivity QCDN will log you out.
