First off, gonna stamp my (sp) and (gp) on this so I don't get mocked for spelling something wrong.

I definitely expect some flames from this, but it's just irritating me so much.

For those of you who leave: Please, announce that you're leaving to your friends, and don't clutter up these boards. I'm so sick of logging on to see in each section someone leaving. It's sad that you are going, but unnecessary to announce it to the QCDN folks. Unless, you are known by the WHOLE population, then all your looking for is pointless cries and goodbyes.

I know I sound like an ass about this, but to add a suggestion to a flame, I would request that the mods of these boards create a new "goodbye" section. I'm more interested in the status of the server, or something like that in the general section, rather then seeing a goodbye topic.

This is just my opinion, I feel bad that people are leaving, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I feel that there isn't a place for that here. The people who know you will miss you. The others who read it will just shrug and go on.

*awaits the flames*

I have to disagree with you mate. I don't mind goodbye threads at all.

What I do fucking mind is when hasbeen peices of shit like Afterhour stick around the boards AFTER they've quit, only to annoy us with their inane postings on shit noone cares about.

Honestly, I don't think a topic like "Should Emo be killed" Is appropriate at all, especially not in general fucking discussion.

GTFO Hasbeens, we don't want you here (with the exception of course being Sculli, who is doing a wonderful job of running the boards now).

:O I cant wait till u leave!!

<3 kidding . _.;

Yeah, that's part of it too, I kinda left taht out since I'm sitting in Accounting right now. Maybe I'm just PMSing cause I can't figure out the overhead department rate for this problem. XD

Clear example of my post.

Most people make goodbye posts because there's just too many people to sit around to wait to logon and directly tell they're leaving (that or, there's just too many names to remember, and the person'd feel pretty bad if they forgot someone.)

I personally have no problem with people that hang out at the board even if they've quit, the place would just be different without certain people (yes, kindof stupid to say that about a forum, but it's true - without Vang, Cubs, Skaw...uhhmm....other people who make useful contributions to FB as well as other forums  they place'd just be sortof different)

I second that basically.

But if we didn't have "I Quit" posts we wouldn't have posts like this to enjoy.

If anyone wants my gil or my gear... fuck you. You didn't earn it. Go FARM or steal Daddy's credit card or move to China and steal the gilseller computers or just log off and take a long hot bath with a toaster.

Still one of my favourite lines in a "Goodbye Post" :P

I could never quit FFXI... Hell, if I could, I would freebase ffxi in a run down building in the projects next to some guy offering me a "happy ending" for a hit.

But thats just me.

I dont' mind the posts, but I think a "coming and going" forum would work best. That way when half the members leaving now come back, both their posts will be out of the way of the main stream forums, yet we can go look back and who's doing what as far as coming and going. Hell, they could even post when they're taking a vacation if then want Quetzalcoatl to know.

This "coming and going" forum does seem like a good idea with the amount of posts that are occuring on the subject. Also i dont mind the posts because i am a believer in the even though it there doesnt mean i have to read it belief. Self control 4tw.

And now that we have an Admin who will actually be here the Afterhours and thier like will be shortlived indeed.

Having goodbye threads is depressing.

Admitting that they are so commonplace now that we need to give them their own section..... way more depressing.

that's why I suggested a "comming and going" forum. It won't be tottally depressing. We'll get word of when folks come back, or if they're looking to join our server. ^^

Lmao that's way too hopeful javir...

"Hey i'm going to apply to quetzy! lets ask in the coming and leaving section...why are there over 50 leaving threads and no applying ones? hell i don't want to go there!"

But yeah they are kinda depressing. Also considering almost every single on is titled "goodbye" its not really hard to avoid them...

Cubs quit on my birthday... lol...

Sorry, off topic.

Yeah, a coming and going thread is not a good idea, I think. There aren't nearly enough people quitting or coming back to fill a whole section up, there's like one a week max, I'd say.

By that logic we should get rid of the Traveler's Tavern as well.
