The next version update will usher in a change of Twilight God proportions with the lifting of level restrictions in Chains of Promathia areas. Tweaks bound to further enhance your adventuring experience in these areas are also in the works.

The upcoming version update will see the lifting of level restrictions in Chains of Promathia areas. In light of the planned level cap increase, the level and distribution of enemies in certain Promathia areas will also be adjusted to pose a worthy challenge to players level 75 and beyond. A journey of rediscovery to your favorite areas of old awaits!

Level restrictions will be lifted in the areas below:
Pso'Xja / Promyvion - Holla / Promyvion - Dem / Promyvion - Mea / Promyvion - Vahzl / Phomiuna Aqueducts / Sacrarium / Riverne - Site #B01 / Riverne - Site #A01

Promathia Missions
Level restrictions imposed upon mission battlefields will also be lifted, making the Chains of Promathia missions more accessible than ever before. Adventurers who have yet to delve into the dark secrets of the Twilight God may now proceed with easier hearts!
*No changes are being planned for the storyline or mission progression. Level restrictions will remain in effect for ENM quests.

Wow. That's insane that they're removing level cap from the battlefields as well.

Oh man, and here I was hoping I could just solo my Stoneskin Torque come update time.

This is something I didn't think they would do. I mean alot of the challenge was from the capped boss fights and now they will be too darn easy! I thought just making it easier to get to the fights was enough...

the gist of the OP: No excuses. Get off your lazy asses and do your missions.

THis is a semi welcome addition. less of a hassle to get some buddies through he story. 3 times on the regular lvl capped style is enough for me. :P

baww@you only doing level capped cop 3 times. talk again when you've gone six times and been left behind each time.

i'm talkin the full story foo. in case you forgot you were part of trip #2. you'll be hard pressed to find ANYONE that has gone through CoP with 1 static. trip #4 will start out at the same point as #2 oddly enough.

Screw you, SE. Teasing me with thoughts of soloing swift belts and soboros, and then jamming a knife in my heart. Sadistic bastards.

Ha! I knew they would remove the lvl cap increase from the actual CoP battles too, and so many people were trying to get away with saying that the battles will still be capped.

Also, I hope the lvl adjustment for the mobs won't be too much, if anything, I hope they only increase them up by 10 lvls if anything for newbies who want to breeze through CoP. Otherwise if monsters are still the same challenge and /check the same EP-IT to us at lvl 75 than they did at that certain lvl cap, then it seems a little pointless of removing the lvl cap other than 75s being a little more stronger to take down an IT instead of a lvl 30-50 capped pty.

This is sad news. The level caps are what made CoP so much of a challenge, and inherently so fun. w/o keeps on even the battle fields it'll be a walk in the park, and certainly less rewarding to beat. My guess is this has nothing to do with the level cap going up as they claim. They could just leave the monsters in those areas at their current levels and not have to change anything.

"Hey guys, who wants to help with this CoP mission?"
"Groan..."
"..no, I've finished, and I'm never going back..."

Ha, yeah. Everyone thought they were loads of fun.

if i had a dollar for every time i heard that, i'd have six dollars, excim. especially for after asking directly after the mammet fight.

I'm one of the few weirdos that was like, "Sure I loved that fight! I'll do it again." >.> I've done most of the missions at least three times. The Chapter 5 and earlier ones probably around five to eight times a piece. I thought the level caps helped make it challenging and fun but I do think that at least more people should be able to find help now. CoP missions were where I had most of my fun and frustration in the game.

I'll admit, I had a hard-on for the Minotaur fight and for Subligar runs :D

wah wah wah. this is the same argument people used then the snoll and other fights were nerfed (IMO the snoll one is the only one that got weakened). and did people begin finishing CoP in droves? NOPE! I'm gonna guess you beat CoP before the nerf, good for you. This game isnt about a challenge anymore, not since the WoW'd it with ToAU. kids don't want a challenge they wanna get to the finish line yesterday (and they aren't having fun unless they are putting up dmg numbers that alleviate their inferiority complexes).

Personally i too think Excim's example is a pinpoint accurate description of why SE is doing this. I like it because it will take the edge off of getting a pair of friends i recently promised to get CoP rings for. Anyone that knows me knows i love the missions and the zones. the loss of the cap is doing exactly what SE wishes. take the edge off of getting through the missions. they just made a long task shorter, and i'm greatful.

You "retired" Red Mage and Summoner to level Ranger, Dark Knight, and Monk. Just sayin'.

I sure thought it was fun. Zaltana is correct, I beat CoP before any kind of gimpification was applied to it. That's not to say it was any less fun because of that. I enjoyed almost all of it actually. I'm not one of the people who did the groan, in fact I went back numerous times to help people with missions, including the mammet and minotaur run even when there wasn't anything in it for me (other than getting to do the missions again). I guess I'm just in a very small minority.

Sadly this is true, but unless you're in the party that doesn't want a challenge, there's no reason to belittle my first post here (wah, wah, wah).

I'll admit that's a valid point. If you're helping some people this should make it easier. Really though, having help all the way through CoP (which is now easy) just seems like it takes away from what was once a great expansion (still is, at least until caps are removed).

and you are exactly correct. i choose non bandwagon jobs. i didnt flock to warriors when rampage was all the rage, and i didnt jump ship to samuri's when SE made 2 handers more powerful then they ever needed to be. i mean isn't that why YOU lvled drk? just sayin.

i leveled drk because i get wood from using a scythe and i think giant katanas look dumb.
