Sure he's an ignorant, bigoted, vacuous, potty mouthed, insipid little troll, but these are the flameboards....I dunno, it's a tough call. On one hand, I absolutely detest everything I have seen him post, but on the other hand, he is doing it in the right place....although on the other other hand it says somewhere rather official that qcdn isn't a democracy, and is, in fact, an autocratic organization, so.....hmm.....
 
Maybe there's a way to confine his posting to this section? That way, if you want a roofie (and the name speaks volumes about his personality) free day, then don't go to the flameboards. Just a thought.

I am gonna say, though, I am against banning. He made all these comments in the flameboard, and as the rules says, anything goes on the flameboard.

SO if you want to change the rules, so be it, but give Roofie a warning first
 
Technically roofie isnt flaming, he is demoralizing and purposfully antagonizing people. this is a case of not banning him because he is posting on the flameboards. this is a case of banning him because what he is posting has no quality whatsoever, nor does it belong anywhere in QCDN, flameboards or no.

I can understand peoples perspective of saying he is not breaking the rules, but giving him a warning, or letting it go and have him continue to upset people will just fan the flames.

He needs to go.
 
? Respecting people and wanting to be them are two different points. I think you're just mixing up the two.

Just a thought. Freedom of speech even has its limits. People limit groups like the KKK in society, why can't we do the same for people who have the extreme views as Roofie? His kind of attitude is what starts hate crimes, which apparently can add to the severity of a crime if it's linked to the incident. I don't see why there's any need to bother going to that extreme.

This thread sorta cracks me up. Roofie and a few others throw around terms like "faggot" and "cocksucker" in the flameboard and little gets said. Roofie says he hates the Japanese, says "nuke the Japs" and now he's gone too far?

Homophobia getting short shrift to racism on the outrage scale is something I'm used to and I don't expect anything to change, but still... this cracks me up.
 
Hal, I think your point is really valid and I even feel bad for not seeing your point before. Yet, I think people say Roofie has stepped over the line in this case, because it has become so extremely flagrant. Basically a racial slur is equivalent to a slur concerning sexual orientation, but i think "nuke all japs" takes it a step beyond either of those.
