I like the new forums and everything, and I like how they're grouped up a bit differently. However, I think that, since this is a forum on Final Fantasy XI, the FFXI section should be pushed up, at least above the general gaming section.

Also, capitalize Wii X.x
 
Move GD back with FFXI section, since its GD about FFXI. And yeah, put FFXI above the rest.
 
Yeah, the FFXI section needs to be moved back up. And as "General" has always been FFXI general talk, it needs to be moved to the FFXI section. The way things are currently setup totally de-emphasizes FFXI which is not a good thing considering that's the main reason we're all here.

Edit: "Fan Works" might need to go back to the FFXI section as well, since it's pretty much FFXI-related stuff.

Yeah, the fact that we have a WoW forum above the Final Fantasy forums on a website about a final fantasy server seems kinda odd. I do like how you broke the sections up, but I agree with the rest of the comments, FF first, and GD in the FF section. Good job on the change, just needs a few minor tweaks.
 
Yarr, GD is for general ffxi discussion, thus why there's an off-topic board in the first place. And yarr, ffxi should be at the top since that's what the boards are all about.
 
I'm not sure I care for the way the order of the FFXI section was rearranged. Why put the Event Scheduling forum at the very bottom? That board gets more posts than all the other FFXI boards (excluding General and Good Times) combined!

I would suggest further dividing the FFXI-related boards into two subcategories to separate the discussion boards from the more utility-oriented boards. It could look something like this:

FFXI Discussion
General Discussion
End-Game Discussion
Quests - Missions - Guides
Good Times
The Burning Circle
The Traveler's Tavern (currently misspelled with two "l's")

FFXI Classifieds
Event Scheduling
Auction House
Crafters Corner
Linkshell Recruiting
Neighborhood Watch

looks like GD just got turned into Off Topic now. So now we have 3 sections about mostly the same things?

Also, Off Topic stuff still above FFXI stuff.

Theres a rule somewhere about never explaining your actions because if you do, you wont have time to do anything else. ;)

I like annabelles suggestion however so I'll do that :)
 
That's better, but I think the new "Anything FFXI" forum was grossly unnecessary. General Discussion has always been the "catch-all" FFXI discussion board. The Off-Topic board is for OT posts, and if OT posts appear in GD (which really hasn't been that big of a hassle), mods are supposed to move them appropriately. By trying to throw in this new Anything FFXI board as a replacement GD board, you've pretty much overthrown years of established expectations in this community to solve a problem I didn't even know existed.

While I'm not speaking for everyone, my guess is that most posters would prefer to see:
1. The Anything FFXI topics moved back into GD
2. The Anything FFXI board deleted
3. GD's description changed back to FFXI-related
4. GD moved into FFXI Discussion category
5. Categories reordered to FFXI Discussion -> FFXI Classifieds -> General Chat
6. The clock fixed

A winner is you(r list). That's exactly what we want, but stated more politely than my suspicious, authority-questioning ass would have put it. That's all that needs to be done to fix things.

If the tanks button was still there, i'd use it right now.
 
it does seem, as of the last few weeks or month or so, that people have been confusing off topic and general discussion (before the forum layout was even changed). Posting FFXI stuff in off topic and non-FFXI stuff in General Discussion (which was about FFXI). Ah well :P it would seem easier to move the GD section to FFXI Discussion now since about 90% of the threads are FFXI related anyways, clean up off topics, and that'll be for the general discussion not about FFXI (as it was supposed to be). *shrugs* either way, I don't care all that much to make a fuss. It's not bothering me.

That has little to do with a problem with the forum, and a lot to do with people's reading capabilities. Also, that is why moderators exist, to move topics where they belong. I see no problem.
 
I know.. but that's been a common thing lately.. people failing with realizing where to post things (even before the forum order changed). Frankly, I like the idea of just moving General Discussion to FFXI Discussion area (since it's already 99% FFXI threads), moving threads currently in that Anything FFXI section to General Discussions (easier to move 4-5 threads than 6000 XD) and just making Off Topic the place for random conversations (as always) in that forum section.
 
I think I understand the purpose of the "Linkshell Forum Requests" board -- to establish a central place for those requests so all three current admins can see and keep track of these requests. However, it still feels a little out of place to me. Would this be better positioned under the "Board Issues" category?

Also, is anything going to be done about the General Discussion vs. Anything FFXI vs. Off-Topic organization? I'm getting tired of having to check both GD and A-FFXI for the general FFXI-related posts.
