Here is my story...Today I am seeking on DRK for quite sometime killing time by farming beehive chips and gil drops from quadavs/goblins. I had been seeking for roughly 3 hours or so, when my friend sends me a tell asking if I want to use the Moon Orb I have had sitting in my mog locker for close to a year. I figure, what the hell? If anything it will be more entertaining than killing bees in 3 hits. So I run back to Jueno and switch to BRD and get invited by Foxcold the leader. This is a pickup group from what my friend tells me so I am not sure if anybody in the party, aside from me and my friend, know each other. We are going to do Grimshell Shocktroopers, which is awesome because I want as Assault Earring and we are doing your orb your drop. So, hoping to get a little lucky, I get my things together and catch the airship to Bastok. After quite some time, maybe close to an hour, we are all at the BC and ready to go. We are randoming to see who trades first and low roll trades first. Well I roll a 19 so I get to be guinea pig. Before I trade I ask if anyone has done this BC before and nobody has. I have not done it either but I have done Steamed Sprouts about a hundred times with my static back in the day. this BC, from what I can tell, is quite similar. Keep everything asleep and fight them one at a time, only differance is here you fight in a specific order. So I get our order set up and I am in charge of calling out the next mob. Our NIN is the person who will be selecting the mob, anybody who has done dynamis knows how this process works. I tell everyone, just like in dynamis, when you have a large number of mobs and you only want to fight one at a time you turn auto attack off. I asked 3 times if auto attack was turned off and everyone said yes. So I trade my orb.

We run in and buff up and the BLM (Bakura) moves forward to sleep the 6 quadavs. He hits Elemental Seal and takes a few steps forward to get into range. Begins casting Sleepga. Everything goes to sleep and the NIN grabs the first mob. For anyone that doesn't know this is a level 60 capped BC, and sleepga 2 is a level 56 spell. Albeit a rather expensive one. I don't say anything about him using sleepga 1 instead of 2 because everything is asleep it's no big deal. NIN pulls the mob down the tunnel so it can't wake the rest up with curaga 2 because it is a WHM type mob. Well after awhile everything wakes up and charges down the hallway towards the BLM. I put everything back to sleep and tell them to pull the WHM away again so everything doesn't get woken up. The NIN either didn't see me say that or didn't care because he didn't move. Before everything woke up the WHM dies without anyone telling me he is close to death so I have to scramble to look at my list to see which is the next one. While I am looking at my list Foxcold auto attacks a mob that is not the next one to fight. This is after telling me that he has turned auto attack off.

So in a panic I hurry to put this auto attacked mob to sleep, accidently hitting horde lullaby instead of foe lullaby. so my Sleepga is now wasted on one mob, due to my own mistake. About 5 seconds after my lullaby goes off everything else wakes up and proceeds to kill me in about 15 seconds while the BLM, or at least I assume, is trying to hit sleepga. Well I die and then everything gets put to sleep. So I say get me back up and we might be able to salvage this. But it was already too late, I'm not entirely sure but I think everyone begain to attack the correct mob while everything else slept, but as soon as sleepga wore off the mobs ran wild and killed everyone, except Foxcold.


So after a little while spent laying face down on the floor we all get taken outside where Foxcold (DRK) is healing. I am rather pissed off at this point, not because we lost my orb, but because of the idiotic reasons we lost my orb. So I home point and leave the party. My friend is staying to get a raise because he is close to level 70 and wants to keep as much xp as he can. So after I leave the party and they find soemone who raises them so they can get back on their feet they start bad mouthing me.

According to my friend:

(Bakura) Guess he left because he didn't get anything on his orb.
(Bakura) only problem with your orb your drops
(Foxcold) fuck them
(Foxcold) [Black List] [Found it]
(My Friend) She left because we lost to such an easy BC like this
(Foxcold) doesnt matter
(Bakura) promise you when people lose on your orb your drops they always leave
(Bakura) cant stand when people take a game that serious that you become rude

So basically the point I am trying to make is Foxcold and Bakura are both horrendous players with little common sense. Bakura is a 74BLM without Sleepga 2 and Foxcold wishes me to believe he turned auto attack off when he obvously auto attacked promptly after the first mob died. So if you value your experiance and your beastman seals I warn you to stay away from these two. Unless the BLM won't be putting anything to sleep and the DRK doesn't need a Vassago's scythe (That's the drop Foxcold wanted at level 60+)
 
So because one bcnm went bad their horrible players and should be thrown in the pitts?
 
It sounds like everyone made mistakes, including you. I've been on horrible bcnm runs before, but after you make a commitment to a group of people, you stick to it. You made five other people get to the circle, buy food and medicines, and not get a shot at the money and now you are here whining about it? You should know the first run goes bad sometimes, and you got stuck with it, then took the wimp's way out.

let me run the other side of this epic story that is at hand.Foxcold ask ppl in ls if we knew any brds cause none of ours were on at the time of the bcnm run. So time passes by and fox is yelling in ls about game fucking up on him and he could not get auto-target to work so what does he do he calls a Gm. Gm told him the best thing todo was log out and restart game. Foxcold is not a bad player at all and your trying to fuck his name up over a bcnm. The way i see it is a bcnm is a game of cards eather you play your hand or you fold. You all played your hand and failed! Sorry shit happens!! I don't know how many times I have ran bcnm's and died with the right set up and shit goes wrong. If you think we should not run bcmn's with them if that what your looking for let us take our chance with that. If your trying to tell us not to pt with them well thats not going to cut it. Because you talking about a bcnm not a party. As for his mouth well thats nothing new to me hell people have attudes all the time. Nor you or I can change that! Botton line is foxcold is a good player and knows how to play his job just fine....when you get into a bcnm shit changes. People get scared and nervous...but hey that just might be me cause I know there's alot of shit on the line and I'm looking to get paid

It sucks you died, because everyone made mistakes, get over it.
 
I just want to say, in regards to the Sleepga 1 cast at the start. It's a pretty good strategy as a BLM sleeper to start with ES Sleepga 1, which lasts about 40 seconds, and then just before it would wear cast Sleepga 2 to overwrite the 1 and give yourself the longest possible window of sleeping time on the mobs. That's the strategy that Osse has always used when we do the Antica BC and we've gone something like 30/30 on that BC.

I also agree that cutting out after the first run was a bit rude. You joined the group, knowing the risks of doing your orb runs with a pickup group, and with the understood knowledge that it sometimes takes a botched run to work out the kinks. Random chance made that first botched run your orb, which sucks- but you still had an understood agreement to stay for the other 5 runs, which you broke. There were multiple mistakes made by multiple people, including yourself. I fail to see why these people are worthy of being flamed, since it seems like it was just a bad night for everyone, not just you.
 
On topic, since my last post wasn't, if you feel you were screwed on your orb than it should have been your responsibility to introduce a particular strategy and have the group execute it. If you didn't, then they went with their guy instincts. If they're going with their instincts, then you just didn't have any luck. If that's unacceptable, find a group that you can trust to share your drops. That's all I can say as far as your options from now on. However, flaming them because shit didn't work out on your orb isn't very fair to them. You think they were happy about losing? I don't like losing at anything, regardless of how it effects me.
 
I partied with all 3 of you before, and you were all good players.
 
I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for my original post. Through reading the responces I recieved in this thread, and getting away from the situation and calming down, I realized how childish I acted. In my own defense I did not really want to be doing a BCNM, and I was already in a pissy mood because of seeking on DRK and a couple RL issues. I have already spoken with Foxcold and explained myself. This isn't how I normally play the game or react to this type of situation. Losing experiance has never bothered me, I was annoyed that I lost 60 beatsmen seals, but I overreacted to the situation. Again I want to say I am sorry for acting the way I did, and I am sorry for making this thread.
 
Hitting the wrong mob, if corrected quickly, doesn't pose too big of a problem. But no Sleepga II at L74, what the hell? It's not a remotely tough quest, nor is it even close to expensive anymore...I mean it's only 300-400k.
 
casting ES sleepga1 is smarter than ES sleepga2... cause when ES sleepga1 wears you have sleepga2 ready to go.
 
I REALLY fuckin hate when people drop out of a bcnm run if their run goes to shit. You agreed to go, things didnt go your way...oh well? Its a royal pain in the ass getting another person out there to rep you. The worst thing about pick up groups.
