Anyone else DL this? I think it's a bit gimmicky but I loved it, I'm a stickler for 3rd person shooters though. I think Lucas Arts is on the ball right now with this and SW:FU. The only problem I saw in it, was the same as SW:FU, on the hardest difficulty, it's still not to hard. Hopefully it'll get beefed up a notch before October. Probably goin' to have a shitty story to but gameplay is more important to be these days.

I though about it but didn't do it, but will look into it later today..

I tried it, it's a ton of fun and I love the level design aspect to it. Any puzzles they throw in will be interesting if they at least try. Depending on the length, I might only rent it, but I definitely plan to play it.

I'm glad they put up a Mercenaries 2 demo. I was expecting that game to be great but my god it's horrible. I'll be disappointed if their are no bots in Fracture, surely they don't expect it to be popular.

I just watched this dev. multiplayer footage video. Now I think if this game isn't popular it's just either too much or ahead of the curve right now. It looks like amazing, cluster-fucked fun.

Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFrQNackzXo

So much goin' on and so many more tactics can be applied than in other games. Looks like a winner to me.

How was Mercenaries 2 horrible? I have it on PC and my only complaints are that the guns are way too inaccurate, and that the cut scenes look like shit compared to the gameplay. I hadn't played the demo, but I can't imagine it'd be much different.

I think Mercenaries 2 is a brilliantly designed game that needs another 6 months or so of refinement to be Warhawk-ish fun. As it stands, it feels like decent fun, and I had a better time with it than Fracture to be honest.

I thought that the character movement was slow. I'm half and half on the gunplay, it felt real Socomish when firing but crosshair movement was a little sluggish, like Perfect Dark Zero, i.e. it's better to find a sweet spot on the Y-axis and only move it right and left and nothing else or just move your character (playin' on PC would greatly remedy this but I don't enjoy PC gaming outside the RPG realm). It shouldn't be that way for a game that doesn't have competitive game-types, i.e. TDM, DM, etc. I had no problem shootin' accurately but I have 3rd person shooters down to an art. More to the reason though, I don't really care for these "open-world" GTA style games. I thought this one might play out different for me but no luck.

My accuracy was fine, my problem is the guns are horribly inaccurate. I'd line up the crosshairs, and I could even leave them there(Some enemies hardly moved), but it'd take far too many shots to just hit them. I don't expect laser-accuracy, but bullets were flying in a random 15 degree arc from the gun; regardless of anything I did. Maybe it's just on the PC version, I'll have to give the demo a shot to see if it's resolved.

It also doesn't help that the game basically holds your hand throughout the entire game. Regenerating health by just walking in circles?

You're a big Halo player, right?

No, lol. I can't tell you the last time i played halo.

Ah, okay. For some reason I thought you were a huge Halo nut. If that was the case I was gonna have a word with you about games that hold peoples hands :spiteful:

Halo 3 is pretty challenging to me at least on the highest setting, and I don't think I particulary suck.

The reviving health thing is pretty common though. Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty, Uncharted... Resistance even has you revive health to the nearest bar - which I think is the best.

These are the first guys to combine it with an actual number telling you your health, like the games of old... or few recent ones such as UT3. Pretty much all the same.

I prefer the old-school method of findin' and pickin' up a health pack and then havin' to press a button to use it. The regen system isn't the worst though. What's worse though is when fun games, like MGO and Lost Planet, don't allow you to regain health back after after it's gone, in any way at all.

Rented this game last week. I wanted to give it some time to sink in before postin' but that didn't help. This game is the definition of garbage. While the TD isn't gimmicky like I figured, it's just a bad game. The story sucks, the game-play sucks, and Jet Brody is the name of a guy who gives nerds wedgies, talks to the popular girls, and goes home to a rich family, not a war hero.

For the health regen topic above... I love the Halo style and even the gears style... What i hate with a passion is the Rainbow 6 styel... Where you cant see a damn thing and the screen turns black... Wtf man.

As for Fracture. This game is pure trash.

I hate that about BF: Bad Company... I dunno why they do that. Personally, I'd rather be counted as killed than run around with skewed vision.
