Free Gil

Had no clue there was such an exploit, maybe it has to do with something related to CoP or the latest patch. Got no clue what it could possibly be.

I heard that some people were botting a NPC in Sandy that gambles with you. You put up 5 gil and you have a better than 50% chance of winning. So over a large period of time I guess you can make some money... I don't see 5 gil per time invested being worth while but who knows?

From that statement in Pascal's link to playonline:

please remember that exploiting flaws in the game is not something we can tolerate.

...should've been followed by " however, players who exist for the sole purpose of unfairly camping NM's and amassing gil to sell online for personal gain, will be looked upon with a blind eye.

.....assholes

There was an old exploit that has been around for a while and may have been fixed at some point. The new exploit is bascially a variation of the old one that seems to work for some people and not for others. If it works it allows you to duplicate any amount of gil.

While it is nice to think of that for a moment, it's also clear that they could track you down and ban your sorry ass, so unless you were planing on quitting anyway, I'd advise against trying this.

There was an exploit in Tavnazia or an area like it where someone could buy an Item for 4mill or so and sell it back to the same vendor for 4.1mil making a 100k profit. There was another exploit where some sort of water was bought for either 180 or 1800 gil, cant remember which, and could be sold back for either 200 or 2000, repsectively.

Let's not forget, "However, it is not necessary to report the names of any players you suspect to be abusing any of the above mentioned issues for their benefit." to which they need to add "because we don't really care."

Coming from the gaming industry I can tell you that SE definitely can track down people who have been exploiting if they want too. This is why they don't want the players "taddle-tale'ing" because they already know who has been exploiting and depending on the severity of it the person will be dealt with accordingly... bleh I'm starting to sound like I'm working for these guys lol.

Keep in mind that the punishment is on top of having all the gil they made from the exploit removed, which will most likely happen to everyone that used the exploit whether they are punished further or not.

But in the end who knows... this is SE afterall, they have a lot more problems to deal with and not enough man power to do it.

Read the comments on it on alla. They aren't joking, but at least they're taking care of the problem, which is good.

The characters that camp the NMs don't sell the gil. They could be part of it, but SE can't prove that they're "botting" or even doing anything wrong just by camping an NM all the time. They pay to play just as we do, they choose to do what they want with their account. While gil selling isn't right in any circumstance, saying those kinds of things is kind of moot because A. nothing is going to be done about it and B. see A.

Would it be fair of me to get pissed because there are "too many people" camping in garlaige citadel and that they should be banned because they could potentially be doing something illegal with their gains?

Simple idea for getting rid of gilsellers:

1.) Square enix buys the gil.
2.) Gil is delivered.
3.) Square enix bans the account that delivered the gil, and any and all accounts that sent gil to that account.
4.) Cancel the payment to the gilselling company.
5.) Rinse, repeat.

Also:

The game isn't available for sale in China. Therefore, ban all Chinese IPs.

Problems solved.

Wow, there's a blow to globalization. So what, anyone can buy a game that isn't for sale in some country over the Internet. Just because they do not distribute some games in some countries doesn't mean the people there are not allowed to play it.

A surefire way to get rid of gil-sellers is if SE were to offer gil for sale themselves at a much much lower rate. The gil, or any items would be billed to the credit card one used for subscription.

Get over the NM camping thing already, jesus christ, camping hoo mjuu is easy as crap, 1/20 lmfao, getting the drop is the hard part, ^^;

And ban all chinese players? haha start a online cold war, yes? jk ^^;

...

just fyi that the issue that SE got rid of was that people where able to duplicate (double) items...for example someone could get a peacock charm and make another one

please forgive any misspelled words if there r any lol

I meant to quote tyrion but i quoted sculli's post, and i'm too lazy to go back and re-quote so nyah.

A lot of the so called "chinese" farmers operate out of Canada. That was the case in Lineage II, so i'm assuming that it's the same for most games. Either that, or they're using proxies set up somewhere. My point is, there will always be a way around that sort of thing.

Sure! And it's also a surefire way to screw up the economy of the game! :?
