Freedom of speech... Illegal soon?

I read the bill without watching the video first.

Then, I could only stomach the first video through 4:51.

My only points:

1. This is not a new form of the Alien and Sedition Acts, by one simple fact. It provides in itself that it does not violate constitutional rights or liberties.

2. This bill does not label thought as a crime, but it establishes its intention to prevent the action upon those thoughts. Quoting the Declaration of Independence aside (yes, I agree with that excerpt), to not expect the US Government or any government for that matter to engage in self-preservation techniques, no matter how small, is complete lunacy.

Does anyone here honestly think that, if by some stretch of the imagination, a second Revolution were to happen tomorrow (or threat of one), and a man or woman with the fully vocal support of a large portion of the populace behind him walked up to the US Capitol Building, demanded the keys to the government offices, would be told "ok, here ya go pal! Sorry we didn't do it well enough for you!"

3. Anyone who considers Rosie O'Donnell to be rational, logical, or sane deserves to be paranoid.

Not to turn this into a huge 9/11 discussion page, but how is what Rosie O'Donnell said about building 7 of the WTC complex (that of a large steel/brick building falling into its own footprint from a few small fires) not a reason to be concerned or just call her irrational, illogical or insane out of hand?

because rosie completely ignores reasonable explanations. and for some reason considers herself to be a physicist.

Because she *is* out of her damn mind, regardless if she's right or not about the WTC Building #7; and because tossing video clips of someone's theories, and then rebuttals of said theories by Bill O'Reilly of all people, doesn't give any legitimacy to the video's creator's claims.

Now, if they had shown video clips of either:

a) Rosie O'Donnell being hauled away by the Men in Black for saying her comments, or even her show being cut off the air rapidly following her comments,
b) The *omg I hope you all can read sarcasm* "fine folk" of the Westboro Baptist Church being Rodney-King'd for spreading their messages,
or
c) A large number of police and the National Guard aiming weapons at the participants of a gay pride parade,

then yeah; maybe I'd be more inclined to believe that my First Amendment Rights were being trounced about.

Although, and I just noticed this and it might just be coincidence...

Well if the government were doing that on live TV and not caring if they were caught on tape, dont you think it would have been too late at that point?

If the government were to take away our freedom of speech one day, with the penalty of disobedience being either physical violence or prison sentences, do you think they would care what the people have to say at that point? Do you think they would just roll over even though they would have the people by the balls? When things like this happen, you're supposed to get it before people get "hauled off stage by men in black/people being beaten for their beliefs(as crazy as they are sometimes)/ or having guns aimed at them for being different and wanting rights" because your first amendment rights wouldnt have been trounced, they'd be gone.

Too true. However, I stand by what I said. Showing a clip of Rosie O'D spewing her babble to her audience prior to her show's taping, then cutting to Bill O'Reilly saying "people like this should be locked up!!" doesn't give the creator of that video, or any critic of this bill, any more credibility on their claims. It's like showing tapes of my grandfather saying "there oughta be a law!" about any random irritation that gets him going, and stating "See!? The wheels are in motion!"

All it does is show that the producer knows how to use video editing software and poorly at that.
