From one Christian to another

To begin with, I am a Christian, and I'll also admit I am the last person to tell you that I am a picture book Christian, I'm not perfect in any way, shape, form, or fashion of the word. I probably have one of the biggest "potty mouths" on the server. It's not people lack of good judgment, it's not their social habits, or even what they do in the privacy of their own home that has been bothering me for a long time on these boards, it's the Christians who argue their religion and do so very hypocritically.

As a Christian you're supposed to hate the sin, not the sinner. You're supposed to show compassion and love to all people, but that doesn't happen here at all. A lot the Christians who are notorious for debating their religion here on this board don't keep up to the standards of their own religion which they debate for.

Most of these debating Christians are putting people down, making themselves out to be better then others, using curse words to "lolstrengthen" their arguments and try to get their point across. All this is doing is making you and the rest of the faith look like the hypocrites this society makes us out to be.

The question I have to ask these Christians is why? If you are going to try to be a martyr for the faith on one section of these boards why do you turn around and flip out on people, curse them out, belittle them on such a regular basis? Why do you insist on raising yourself above others when you aren't any better then them by any means? Maybe they don't believe in your God, they don't believe in your Saviour, that's their choice don't belittle them for it, don't lower your standards given to you by the religion YOU CHOSE to theirs and the way they debate/argue just because you think it's the only way to get your point across to people outside of your religion, it's not. You can just as easily get all of your points across without cursing at them, belittling them, and without making yourself out to be "Holier then thou."

The latest incident I witnessed was when Bela and Alyada were arguing on the Gay Pride week thread. Bela decided to make him/herself out to "being obviously above you in both intellect and personality" than Alyada. Bela also referred to Alyada as "an ignorant little child" making him/herself out to be such a well informed wise person, when they honestly do not know anything about Alyada and making such a statement is laughable at best. Bela didn't stop at that either, he/she also decided to let Alyada know that he was "a disgrace to men everywhere." I still can't find a reason for that to be said, from the looks of it, it was either Bela having a hissy fit, or Bela saying it because Alyada is in face a homosexual human being, either way there was no reason for it to be said, especially on the grounds that Bela was arguing on.

This is just one of the many different posts I've seen of so called Christians behaving just the opposite of what the religion they are trying to defend wants them to be. What's the point of defending your religion if you don't believe/follow it yourself?

I never got into any of the religious debates on these boards for the reason that I'm not a perfect Christian, and from the way I have behaved and posted on these boards I would just make myself out to be a typical hypocritical Christian that our society has come to hate so much. I know I'll take a lot of heat for this post after telling people I am in fact a Christian, and I know I'll be called a hypocrite, if that's the case then so be it, I deserve it for my behavior and posts on this board, I won't try to deny it, and I won't be trying to defend the religion I believe because on these boards I haven't upheld many, if any, of it's values.

And to all of those who are Christians who hate gay people, go read your Bible, don't hate them, love them and hate the sin which they partake of. Also remember this, their sins are no greater then your own sin, for all sin is just that, sin in the sight of the Lord. Don't get bigheaded because you are a Christian, but humble yourselves like you're supposed too.

My honest feelings about all relgion is it is a way to keep people in check and to control there lives; like a puppet.

Religion might be for some people but for its a waste of my time.


I will tell you a funny story. At work i had this Born again Christian crazy guy; He brought a bible to work and prayed on his lunch break. Now i was the manager at the time and when i am on my break or doing paper work i did not want to here that crap on the radio. WE had some arguments and it boils down to because i was gay he would not respect me or even listen to me for a simple request. One day he had holy water on him, he told me it bothers him deeply that i will burn in hell. I told him i will tell you how the weather is, he goes on and throws holy water at me. Now as a cruel joke i started screaming like my face was burning and freaked the shit out of him, after i stopped i sent home and he was fired a few days later.

The guy acted like he was a saint but he knocked up some girl and now has a kid.

Religion is an incredibly touchy subject. One that I'd really like to avoid on the flameboard because it can cause for some really horrible times...
