Hey Yomi~
I kinda missed the first whole part of this thread... decided I'd check in here while watching Home Alone on TBS while unwinding getting ready for sleepy-time. BUT... I have some things I think I can add in, that may have already been said (I just read the OP and this last page, so forgive me).
I was a chubby lil kid... but I always ate healthy. Once I started participating in sports, I got really skinny and developed my muscle groups by playing soccer etc... but then I hit puberty, and I gained a bunch of weight out of nowhere (this was around 6th grade). I got a lil chunky (5'3", 130 or something like that), but I grew to about 5'9" (current height) in the next year or so and my body evened out. I've always exercised almost daily, even though highschool being involved in sports and having nothing to do in California but play basketball at the local park or run around ride bikes and whatnot. However... I got my liscense eventually, I got freedom, I ended up graduating from high school and ended regular physical activity and was enticed into fast easy and tasty fast food. Since high school has let out (been about 3-4 years now), I've put on 40 LBS more than I had when I was a senior (I used to be 180, now I'm 220-225). I sure as hell am not thin, but I'm not huge either...
Obviously, you can see the variables here... I'm not eating as healthy, and my excercise has gone from 1 hour a day to like 30 minutes 2-3 times a week. To make yourself change, the best things come from the long-term solutions, not the short-term. A girl I know at work told me a friend of hers lost something like 50+ lbs off the Atkins (Short-term results) diet, and gained it all back in a matter of weeks. Forming HABBITS is what's important, even if you're unhappy sticking to your daily regimen of what you can/can't eat, you have to realize its better for your future.
Although it's very difficult, you can still have a little bit of forgiveness in your diet and be fine. I ended shedding 15 lbs after one lazy summer for USA track and field circuit in the coming fall, and I didn't enjoy it but when I finally reached my end goal weight, I felt great about myself. Not really about how I looked, but that I was able to see a goal through to the end. Was I happy the whole time? Hell no, lol. But, when you finally reach the end... it's so exhillirating.
I agree with what Jender said about being attracted to different people. You can talk to certain people and get bad vibes from them, or just flat-out not like them for whatever reason. If I don't have a good time talking to a girl/woman, I will not consider dating her... She can be the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, but I wouldn't consider dating her or even show interest if she's a shallow bitch or as interesting in conversation as a bump on a log. If I feel that I couldn't be friends if the relationship would have to eventually end, I don't bother starting anything in the first place. That said, just like Faedryth, I won't date a girl that I find unattractive... however! I won't balk at the chance to make a great potential friend. Too many people get caught up in "finding someone". Hell, when it comes down to it, real friends are always there anyway. My view on things (not a very popular one) is that I'm going to make friends with "you" if I find you interesting, and if things take off from there, great, but my first concern if making friends. I'm rambling on and on and this is competing for "LONGEST - POST - EVER", so I'll end it here.
