I can see how a "proper" powerlevel is possible but for the most part they rarely happens. If your group can be powerleveled and the tank is still tanking and learning to stand still for the thieves, the mages are doing the majority of the healing/nuking, skillchains are plentiful, the group is still fighting level appropriate mobs, the pl'er only would step in if someone was about to die or handle links, etc I wouldn't have a problem with them, maybe.[/quote]
This is what my friend came and did for us the other day when i had such a bad experience in the dunes and I was about to cry. He just kept the gobbies off us and was there in case we got into trouble, but then I asked him to leave because the ppl in my pt were getting lazy because of him. He was basically just there to make sure I didn't die anymore >.<
And I have PL'd friends in the dunes, but it is usually in pts that they made where everyone has already gotten a job past 30 and they just want to get the hell out of the dunes.
But PL's for new people is just not good at all. I didn't get them on my BLM, died countless times, and learned from the experience.

Why do people treat me like i'm from mars after i tell them i solo every job to 20 so i can get a better handle on the job itself and avoid lvling in the dunes? :shock:
