Do I think you should have been suspended? No. I said that.
Did I say that "GM" = "stop"? No. I even said "whoops, my bad."

I do recognize that you said you checked him 15 times before he asked you to stop. It was also pretty obvious he didn't want you to continue, but you did anyway.


Again, I don't think you deserve suspension. A warning or something would have done just fine...

You're arguing that you only used a function of the game. Yes, that's right. In the context, you abused it. The GM could have handled this differently, but it wouldn't change the fact that you annoyed the shit out of someone, pretty much just out of spite.
 
I own a baseball bat. If I use it on your face, I get in trouble. Yet that is one of the many uses of a bat. Bats hit things with the intent to project it away from the batter. So why do I keep getting in trouble when I hit people with my bat? Perhaps there is a design flaw to my bat...
 
I dont want people to shout in jeuno either, but it's a game function, and I cant get all of them banned for 4 days.

It's a repetative use of a function, and even more text runs through annoying me, than a "Random person examines you".

And dont give me no filter bullshit, because you can filter out examines aswell if you dont like seeing that little line of text every now and then.

I'm not sure. I think a ban was not called for.

Shouting is another thing. It's fine when you use the shout "function"...It's not fine when you use it 15 times repeatedly.
The entire town will be pissed at you, if not start shouting back and telling you to shut up...So yeah, there's a big difference between using a function and being annoying.

Exactly, and by changing gear all the time, Serise (was it? cant remember by now, adn to lazy to look) brought this upon himself.
 
Hmmmm, well he showed that he didn't want people checking him, and that was obvious. Despite what we think of people who don't want to be checked and change equips, etc...He just didn't want to be checked. He didn't start anything or bring anything on himself.

Jonason had every opportunity to get a clue and stop, but didn't.
I still don't think he deserves a ban just for being annoying. I'd say you need to check at least 30 times before a ban is warranted. lol

If you were examined 15 times would it annoy you?

I ask myself and the answer is yes.
Jonason examines me roughly 5 times when we prep for Dynamis and I don't even change equips...Mostly because I don't want to spark his curiosity more.

Is examining once, maybe twice, not enough?
15 IS excessive, and yes, annoying.
 
There wouldn't have been any 15 times if he didn't change gear every time.

But no, you can check me all day long if it entertains you, by the time I would get annoyed I would change my filter settings.

But that's the reason we have filters...then again I guess he doesn't need to put filters on if he doesn't want to, but then he won't have the right to complain if he doesn't put them in.

But yeah, I agree, 15 times is kind of annoying. :P I wouldn't make a GM stop eating his donuts and drinking coffee to answer my precious call for that.
 
If you can't take the fucking hint that he wants you to stop checking his gear after the fourth gear swap, you're a dumbass and should be banned from the game. Not suspended - banned. End of story. I can understand checking them a couple of times if they're fighting or something; sometimes people check me two or three times because I'm that one guy who actually believes in gear swap macros (yeah, you gimps that don't use gear swap macros... you can quit the game, too - thanks!).

Your shout argument is pretty dumb, too. If someone shouts the same message once a minute, it might get kind of annoying, but I won't mind. If someone shouts the same message fifteen times in thirty seconds, yes, I'll be pissed off, and I'm sure about twelve other people will start shouting for said person to "stfu." Personally, I'd blacklist them.
 
JP GMs stick up for their players, NA GMs don't. That is why this kid got suspended, not because what he did was super wrong.

GM made a call.
Jonason's just salty because action was actually taken and he doesn't feel it was necessary.
Nothing can change the fact that he was annoying...Not even the fact that Serise was annoying.

Maybe he should call the GM and complain that every time he checks people, its not fair that they change gear.
 
blue sure its anoying, but its also annoying he changes his gear alot. i cant call a GM on him for being annoying for him refusing to let me use a ingame function.

And by preventing him to do so, you kinda bring it on yourself that he does it again.

So, what should happen?

Give me ONE good reason for Jonason not to check that person again and I'll shut up forevah!
