Fuck SE...

I'm about to delve back into the art of growing Ores... but the costs are almost prohibitive. If you are really good at it, you can possibly pull 4/10, but you can just as easily pull 0/10.

I've discovered on ores, never - ever, count your chickens before they are hatched! ... ever! lol

I planted 30 sappers one time and got 1 ore doing it the 'right way.'
the following harvest I planted 30 and got 8 doing it the 'right way.'

It really depends on a series of checks, moon phases, days, harvest time, etc... I don't want to post suggestive hints on a mass forum Eulore, but if you get me while we are in PinCK's for dynamis, I can give you some pointers.
 
I'm done with ores, I'm just going to turn cuttings into saplings.
 
yea, i dont think ores are a great source of income. i mean for the time spent, which is around what a month? and the multiple times u need to check them, and plan days for harvest... it all just seems like a giant headache. I would feel alot more comfortable going with a steady stream of income, even if the numbers arent that big. The numbers build after a while. If ur saving up for something big, set goals for urself to make atleast *insert amount of gil* per gaming session. Do that after so many tries and u'll have gil to play around with. atleast its worked for me ^^

Wow, WSM, you still come up with the gems....

You have to spend 5 minutes planting... a week later you spend 5 minutes adding crystals.... a week after that 5 more minutes adding crystals... and then a week after that about 30 minutes to harvest and AH/NPC the results...

A total 0f 45min every 3 weeks...

DAMN YOU SE... YOU'RE SUCKING THE LIFE OUT OF ME!!!!!!
 
I have yet to make less than 2 ores in gardening out of 10 pots. YOu musta done something wrong :P

Then, Tyrath (who obviously knows everything :lol:), tell me what exactly I did wrong?

Here's my exact setup:

10 bronze flowerpots on each character

Moghancement: Gardening from items

Planted Tree Saplings on Lightsday, Full moon

Fed Light Crystal to each on Lightsday

^-- same

Harvested on Lightsday, Full moon

Checked them at least once every day in between.
 
i use ceramic pots. never tried light, i like to stick to my bread and butter ore, does me good and sells well. ive had 0 ores grow from some mules, but usually it evens out to 2 or 3 ores a mule depending on something.

i've read guides till my eyes hurt, and lots of contradicting info so i just stick to basics that you listed.

0 ores happen, if you farm your own cuttings and turn them into sapplings i wouldn't give up just yet. my first few harvests weren't all that hot.

some of the posts i've read say there is a hidden skill for gardening like choco digging, but i don't know about that.

my last harvest i had 2 mules pull down 4 ores, but one of those was new, the other was old. and on like my 2nd or 3rd harvest i ever did i got 5 ores.

i check them usually when i wake up and sometimes when i go to bed if i'm not tired.

i wouldn't give up on it if you are looking for a nice income once a month. i know when i don't really have anything i want to buy, i get lazy and don't make gil. i get real lazy at harvest time, cause i know i'm a get to cash out.
 
It's just bad luck... happens from time to time.

My best yield was 6/10 Earth Ores, and, as it was a really busy month for me, both crystals got added on random days, instead of the day of the crystal...

One thing you may want to consider though, all that light energy may be leading to a high probability of Shell Bugs (which are the "fail" for the harvest)...

But even one elemental ore in 30 pots should see you break even, and each after that is pure profit.... 0/30 is unlikely, but obviously possible...
 
lol, pised about the outcome of gardening...

Its a big gamble with gardening. Even the most sure recipes can fail.

But atleast you got to harvest everything.

Right now, I got 20 pots, growing saplings into what I hoped would be dark ore.
But I havent been able to check my plants since sunday evening, because my computer had to be repaired, and now thoose 20 plants are more or less F.U.B.A.R.

A way to make profit everytime, is to go farm cuttings, grow them to saplings and grow them to elemental ore. or atleast try.

Yes, it takes time. But everyone playing this game, should already have enough time.
