I just had a fun night. While, yes, accidentally spending all of my money on Cursed Mufflers isn't good for me, it gave me an incentive to do some of the stone monument quests and get some money and get closer to my cnest map. But that's not the point.
My first adventure begins in The Necropolis. I had just gotten the imprint from the one on the island, and was making my way back. All of a sudden, I see people, amoung them Stupidrainbow and Invincible(something), or what pretty much all looked like automatic names, were lined up at the entrance. One of them, a female hume, tells me, some interesting bits include "the Lich!!!" and "kill". I played along, and decided since I have no money anyway, I'd follow behind them and diaga extra mobs should they decided to sleep some. Now, by her obvious proclamation of the Lich!!!, I could assume they were farming up Ancient Papyrus, except that there were 12 of them, and none of them looked like thieves to me(in a job sense, at least). So I follow close behind, keeping sneak and invis up, when after about 30 minutes they seemed to have set up camp in a tunnel part of the necropolis. So they seem to be pulling, and with 12 people, there were about 4 taru blms(all in level1-8 gear, mind you), some tanks who subbed nin(and never used utsusemi) and some whms, things seemed to be going good for them.
One odd thing I noticed is that they weren't really focused on Lichs. I saw them kill maybe 2 or 3, but it was mostly hell hounds they were taking.
Then one of the hell hounds takes out two of the blms. The hume female from earlier asks me about raise(not to raise), and I tell her that I'm subbing rdm, to which she replies that she can. So she raises one, then raises the other, but as soon as the 2nd gets up, he gets agroed by a hell hound and drops right back down. The party takes out the hound, raises the blm, and they rest.
A few more pulls are going fine for them, when all of a sudden one of their tanks die. Right near the same spot the blm who got agroed died. Once again, the whm raises him/her, and they are taken out again by a wolf. But that's just the beginning.
As they were taking out the wolf, I got distracted by a discussion on my linkshell. When I looked back up to see what was happening, I saw two Lich and the Hell Hound wreaking havoc amoung the rmt. One by one they fell, until all were down and the mob disappeared. I ran over their bodies to laugh at them, and spoke a few words with the passing Trippyhippy before I got myself out of there. I picked up a chocobo in jeuno and went off to selbina.
Second part gets better. Maybe. As I'm riding my chocobo through Jugner, I see yet another band of rmt, this time 6 of them, gathering at the zone to the highlands. I saw then run off, one after another in /follow, through the woods and decided to follow them as well. They've made a long line with their /follow, and I think I hear some orc grunt at one point. They must've realized it too, because soon the leader(a thf) stopped and found that they were being chased by two orcs. The rmt tried their best to kill them, but lost their thf, a tank, some other melee, and their whm(who all deleveled to 19). A friend of mine xping beastmaster in the area came towards the group, just as the four that died home-pointed. He told me that the blm had asked for help, so he casted protect on the blm. Seeing that it was done, I made my way to selbina.
Anyway, just wanted to share that with ya'll. A pretty fun time indeed I had watching these people die, although I'll probably log on tommorow and the ones at 47 will be at 60, and the ones at 20 will be at 40.
