Future of FFXI when Version of FFXI on Xbox 360

ah if I were someone without a pc, I would still go for the Ps2 version... reason why? well Xbox Live is gonna charge you to use the internet service, and your going to have to pay for FFXI still... so think about it -_-

This has been talked about between SE and Microsoft. There will be some sort of plan worked out so it evens out. The game wont change much player wise, imo. The people who already play may switch to 360 because it looks cooler or whatever but I don't look for it to bring many people into the game. Most people own a PS2 and already have access to it. If it does bring people over it can't get much more worse... Then again if I look on here and it kills the game even more, like the PS2 release did for us original PC users, I'm gonna be sending out a lot of "I told you so"s to those defending PS2 people who will now feel the pain.

wow lot diffent idea on how xbox will effect ffXI and must Proberly right,
the new plays are going to have a hard time buying gear with the steady rise of items and equipment.
the prices on lower end good will proberly drop will the prices on high end good will must like still rise.
as for people help lower lvls there are alot of people that help lower lvl but with the amount of flux in the amount of people coming i would think that there wont be enough to go around.
the gil seller will proberly be busyer then ever tring to do make gil to supply the new comers with gil and there will proberly be new gil seller to.

but on the brighter side with every new system they put this game on they always bring new servers and new world im sure this will be no diffent. couple new job new worlds new mission maybe they even come up with a new race like a male mithra and a female galka, or maybe a new starting city to further disapate the amount of people in 1 city.

me i hope they consider some the idea people mad on allakhazam.com
there lot good idea and some not so good but i guess only time will tell

If Xbox does bring new players in I dont think it is really going to be that big of a deal. Sure there will be more "noobs", but really its not that big of a deal since they will learn and fit in eventually. As for the economy...if they have new servers then they will have a new economy on that server, if they dont then they will still be fine in the already established servers like ours probally. FFXI may have changed since the PS2 players joined but thats because the PS2 players adapted(I remember when computer players and PS2 players argued at first). If Xbox really brings in mroe people then the game will just change again and everything will eventually work out.

It's kinda funny how FFXI populations are so against new players joining the game. At first there were only Japanese players. They were happy. The US PC players came in next, and the Japanese players were displeased. Then the US PS2 players came on, and the US PC players were displeased. Then Europe joined in, and by and large noone noticed. Whenever a new wave of players join the game, they're always the scapegoat for all the game's problems. JP's think we brought gilselling and mpking with the US release. US PC players think the PS2 players are 12 year old noobs. Noone ever comments one way or the other on Europe. Now another system is joining the fray, and even PS2 players are taking their chance to label an entire set of players noobs before they even join. Maybe set a precedent with the Xbox release and let it be the first wave of players that weren't scorned without a chance.

i'm less worried about more players than i am about the Type of players.

People who are drawn to the PS2 on average enjoy more complicated games, where you actualy have to expend effort. The X-Box draws in people who like quick, immidiate gratification.

and Zomg, post # 666 actualy has a cool title XD

Time to stop posting Mara...

On another note, I read that one of the reasons FFXI was not available for the X-Box was that SE was not able to use POL instead of Live! This has rectified with the 360, and you won't have to subscribe to Live! to be able to play FFXI. Just logon to POL as usual :)

Of course, since I read it on a Game-site (Gamespot, IGN or something like that), this is not fact, but speculation. When SE posts this, I'm more likely to believe it. 8)

Because they where not and still not a problem. Also, everyone was given a chance, EVERYONE, it's just how the game turned after that chance was given. The title every platform has gotten that this game has been released still holds true to this day and it's very obvious . However, the release on 360 will most likley not generate many new users. Like I once said most people already have a PC or PS2 at least and the majority of players on 360 will be those same people looking for better graphics or a more relaxing way to play (not at a cpu desk in a damn chair all night @_@).

More new players will mean more people to buy stuff off the AH, more to craft items that can't be found anyway but crafting, and to farm items and sell them on the AH. The larger the economy the stronger the economy, and the harder it is to price fix items and "corner the market".

Now on the minus side, more players leads to more crowded xp zones. I wasn't around for the previous releases, but with so many new players I wonder if the noob zones will be able to handle the influx, or if leveling in these areas will become a mad dash for each mob before one of the 20 other low levelers in your area snatches it up first. At least those of us already established in the game can get mutual PLs from friends for times we need to level other classes in areas normally only visted by low-levels with a death wish. I'm considering leveling my WHM up some more and then watching to see if the Gustenburg area becomes overly crowded. If it does I'm thinking that I'll be grabbing random Bastokan citizen noobs and offering them PL in Dangruf or Konstat to ease the problem and maybe make some friends along the way. Was there such a problem when the other releases came out?

Well if you think about it the Xbox players with either adapt or fall away. If they cant deal with not having quick results then they will give up and go away without making it past dunes probally. I mean I can't imagine people who are impatient to make it very far since farming, camping, crafting, and leveling all take alot of time. So i dont think theres a need to overly worry about the players your talking about. Sure their might be some shouts for gil but most likely this wont be given out and those players will just give up and leave the game. That or they will adapt with the rest of the current population in each server.[/quote]
