It's David Bowie month on QCDN (not officially, just sayin')

For all those who are curious as to why you see a couple avatars.

I invite all Bowie fans to partake. Throw up your favorite pic in your avatar or sig.

Post a pic here or a favorite Song or lyrics of a movie etc.

Bowie will live FOREVER.

When I changed my avatar, it was to prove a point... Now that apparently anyone will do it, I'm changing mine back because you're counter-proving my point. When someone said that not mentioning MJ before his death just makes you a fan boy/girl because people are only upset about him now that he's dead, I made my avatar Bowie to say that now that I've changed it, if something happens to Bowie (God forbid) I'm "allowed" to mourn.

This is just getting silly.

Edit: Nvm, changing it to someone of equal awesomeness.

Well you said it was the unofficial David Bowie month here at QCDN and that people should change their sig or banner if they like David Bowie.

I guess I don't quite see how this proves the point you were making in the MJ threads. I understood your point in those threads, but this, doesn't really fit that scenario.

Let me reiterate; Saying someone is only being idolized after their death because it is the "in" thing to do (because apparently in the Music thread, no one had mentioned MJ), I put up a Bowie avatar. My point was basically so say that, just because you don't talk about someone, doesn't mean that they don't mean anything to you. So I put it up to basically say "Am I allowed to mourn if he dies now? Because I have an avatar up?"

If people are doing it because they are Bowie fans (as was mentioned) then great, but if it's just to jump on a proverbial "bandwagon" then they are only proving the initial point of only celebrating someone when it is "cool" to do so.

(Note: Not saying people that have Bowie in their Avatars are bandwagoners, don't get me wrong, he is awesome, but it semi-sullies the point I was trying to get across).

Maybe I should have put someone less "cool" in my avatar... Like Richard Simmons.
