I bought a really cheap PS2 style game controller for the PC and have been having nothing but issues with it (GGE909). I’m looking to pick up another controller or a PS2 to PC Adapter. What I am looking for is something that is identical to the PS2 controller that supports force feedback or an adapter that works properly with FFXI that also supports force feedback. I wanted to find out what everyone else is using as there seems to be a lack of trust worthy reviews out there and to find out if you are having any issues with your controller/adapter?

I use a logitech controller that looks just like the ps2 one and it works completly fine. Got it from best buy for like 25 bucks about 8months ago and havnt had a problem since. Just gotta have it plugged in before you start up ffxi.

don't know exactly what force feedback is... but I use this I have never had a problem with it other then when I threw it on the ground and broke it >.>; also Logitech makes nonchordless versions that don't eat batteries if that's more to your liking. One of my friends has it and iit has never given him problems.

I just use my 360 controller, works well except 2 of the shoulder buttons are useless.

RAdioshack has PS2/PC adaptors that support rumble and work great for the game.

I use a logitech controller. These can be found at either circuit city or best buy. Logitech's site will even help you find one in a store nearby.

Above is the current one i use. One of my controllers has a sticky button issue but i'm told that can be fixed while the other one works very well.

If that type is not what you are looking for, here is a product line for PC controllers:

I don't use a controller to play ff with, I just can't get used to it. But I use this to play all my Roms with. I got 120 starts on mario 64 with a PS2 controller. Sometimes you have to get creative with the setup for n64 games, but the controller itself works flawlessly.

You can find it here

I'd go with an Xbox 360 controller. They sell two "versions" of the wired controller. One says it's for 360 and the other says it's for the PC and is sometimes a bit more expensive, but they're the exact same controller and both work with the 360 and the PC.

You could even get a wireless 360 controller and then get the USB wireless adapter for the PC that was just released recently that lets you use any wireless 360 device with your PC (controllers, headsets, etc). I think the adapter is only around $20.

I use my PS2 controller on PC
just a simple converter, never had troubles
all features are there including FF

I use the radio shack PS2 to usb adapter. I also have the controls set up just how they would be on the PS2. If you want the force feed back I say get an Original ps2 controler its like 20 bucks and the radio shack adapter 10 bucks.

I use a Xbox > PC converter With works remarkably well with rumble feature

I use the controller mostly for Fishing, since ive goten so use to using the keybord when i play.

Controlloers good its just my macro selecting slows down alot when i use a controler compared to a keyboard

Thanks for the Feedback everyone. I went with the Radio Shack Adapter. Works great!! Life is good now.
