So ever since I beat XII I haven't been playing much of anything, been on sort of a game break I guess. I'm in the mood to play some sort of champions/gauntlet/diablo type of game right now and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. The only systems I have are a PS2 and Gamecube, so keep it limited to that.

Champions of Norrath is an oldie but it's fun, the sequel ain't bad either.

You can play Gauntlet Legends: Dark Legacy by yourself, but it's ten times more fun with a few more people.

Edit: Sorry, you mentioned Champions, for some reason I got it confused with Heroes of Might and Magic, still a fun game though.

Was gonna suggest titan quest but thats pc only. Thats basically a 3D Diablo. Almost everything in that game is from Diablo. But yeah Champion or Norrath is fun and Dark Legacy is addicting. Boulders gate is fun. Its also very similar to champions of norrath. Haven't played Boulders gate 2 yet but I'm sure thats good too.

Heroes of might and magic 3 is awesome. Don't play 5 though. Its shit.

The X-Men: Legends games are pretty fun, both are available for PS2 and GC. You can probably find them at Gamestop for like 20 bucks.

Just one tip about multiplayer: be careful the people you play with know enough to not keep killing you with explosive barrels. Like my friend did.

Why did I let him call dibs on Wolverine...

I learned awhile ago that playing rpg type games on multiplayer with other people sucks, because no one has the same strategy on how to play so you wind up arguing about it all day.
That's why me and my friend play all of our multiplayer rpgs together. We have the same/similar strategies and so we own everything. We beat Crystal Chronicles, XMen Legends and Champions of Norrath together and it was awesome:D

Gauntlet Legends: Dark Legacy

Gauntlet Legends and Gauntlet: Dark Legacy are two separate (albeit very similar) games...

Download the 10 day WoW trial. Its fun.
Yeah, for about that long, too. kekekeke

If you have even the most ancient of PCs, Nethack is an option. It takes some getting over the ancient (or text based, depending on version) graphics, but it's a very full dungeon crawling RPG. Not for everyone, but definitely a classic, and definitely very good. Most of the newer games are actually based on ideas similar to this (Diablo, PSO, anything with mysterious dungeon/fushigi no dungeon in the title...)

Have you tried FFXII yet?

I just picked up Titan Quest, and despite the stupid name I gotta say this is one wicked game. Seems pretty short though, I've only had it for 4 days and I'm already at the last portal so I presume the game doesn't go on too much longer. Hopefully there's another chapter or 6 with more looting and killing.

Anyone have suggestions for PC games? Not to derail but hopefully people can suggest titles for one or both platforms.

I'm looking for new FPS and RPG games, so if anyone can suggest some good recent titles please do. I've already played F.E.A.R. & expansion, Sin episodes 1, Oblivion, NWN2. I don't have a PS2 so FF12 is not an option.

I just found a bunch of games in Gamefly's library that look pretty interesting that I'm gonna try, all Ps2 mind you:
Legion: Legend of Excalibur (cause well, how can I not?)
Rogue Galaxy
The Bard's Tale
Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown (doesn't look gay actually)
Wizardry: Tales of the Forsaken Land
RPG Maker 3
King's Field: The Ancient City
Warriors of Might and Magic
Heroes of Might and Magic: Quest

and this shooter, Warhammer 40,000 Fire Warrior, that looks cool too.
So I think I'm good for awhile >:D
