Game Server vs. Update Computer...

Wow some of you are actually able to download files? o_O I can't even get any internet traffic at all between my system and the FFXI servers lol. Ah well, got a long workday ahead of me, by the time that's done I'll hopefully be able to update.
 
This is what fucking pisses me off, POL is saying on there website complaning oh we're have congestion problems. And this isn't the first time too, You think the fat japanese computer nerds at SE would get up and do something about it, instead of complaning about it and telling us to wait. You think they would be ready for over half a million people to try and get the updates all at once.

Whats even funnier, is that the updates just aren't that big, volume-wise. 30 Megs is nothing.

So why the hell don't they just allow mirrorable downloads?

Seriously, if SE just wants to whine about their servers being congested every update, I don't understand why they don't just pass out zips of the .dat files to File Planet, File Shack, etc..

If people have access to the files outside of their crappy automated delivery system, the only thing that people would have to wait on is the file scan.
 
so it is now 23 hours after the update started, and I still can't even get into playonline.

I want my new hairpin ><

If anyone wants to sell thier Emporer's Hairpin, I'll give ya 200k for it :P

Yes, because a lack of bandwidth to update 500k+people simultaneously is obviously a conspiracy against NA and EU players :roll:

I take it back...

I am finally on the server, and there is less than 300 people on it.

I am currently watching my HNM of choice wandering around peacefully, and I am the only one in the zone...
