I've heard some bad stories and some weird stuff about garrison and i was curious... what exactly IS garison, what exactly do you do in garison, what are the strategies and party formations? nobody seems to do these but the garrison equipment looks amazing and it looks like you could turn a nice profit off one of these things... anyone? i'm reasonably interested in doing one if i can get a group together with at least 1 person who's done these before...

Basically Garison is a group of players defending an outpost alongside some NPCs. In order to start a garrison you must have the rare/ex item for that area, and you rnation must be in control of the area. There are five waves of beastmen specific to the area that will attack you. Your goal is to keep as many of the NPC's (patricians sp?) alive throughout the whole ordeal as possible. You will have a varying number of NPC and varying number of attacking beastment dependant on the number of players that are doing the garrison. Everyone that is participating will have their level capped and no one from outside the alliance can help you (just like Eco-warrior).

So here is an example:
West Ronfarue
Starting item: Red Cryptex
Dropped from: Orcish Fighters
Level Cap: 20
One person trades a Red Cryptex to the Signet NPC at the outpost and the event starts. Everyone in an alliance has their level capped. Garrison can be any number of people from 1 to 18 (not like you could win with one person). If you had lets say 18 people in your alliance, there would be 3 parties of NPC's as well, and a serious number of orcs for each wave. The final wave includes a N/M boss orc. So long as one of the Patricians (NPC) survives it is considered a win and you can get exp scrolls and Garrison gear drops. The more Patricians that survive the more drops you get at the end.

I have only done Garrison twice and would like to do more, but I have been too busy lately to set anything up. Hope some of this is helpful and good luck to you.

oh, also you can check Mysterytour for a list of the items that start garrison.

I haven't done a garrison in a long time.. I'd really like to try more ^^ I'd also like to do the other thing..the umm.. expiditionary forces?.. I think that's it

my main LS did these often before i joined but as of late ti seems no one is really interested in garison anymore.

Yeah I don't know why either. It's good money, just look at the prices of the garrison armor in AH, also xp scrolls and MH mananquin parts drop too. What's not to like? Problem is some people don't get anything, but hey for a pretty easy do-as-much-as-you-want thing, it's good picking.

Pain to find people for it though, they are easy as hell. Simply get 12+ people make sure one is at least ninja. Everywave have the ninja pull away a mob and tank it. ( lvl 20 fights seem like the best money makers besides uncapped, I only do 20 fights mostly) That way you can full rest between waves, just have the nin bring back the mob to be slayed when you are ready. Also ,keep one healer fixed to healing only the NPC's, the more NPC that live, the better your drops.
