I think that since nobody takes the time to actually screen these "conversations" and "gm calls" and "warnings given" that they're all just BS. Until I actually see a GM warning someone for the exact same thing they did nothing about for someone else, I think that there's little/nothing actually going on other than the GMs laughing at us.

Thing is, people HAVE posted screen shots of these biased conversations in here before. And organizing SN/photos really wouldn't be too difficult.
LOL... Then the player posting the Screenshots would be accused of using a third-party app. and get their accounts permanently banned. :P

Have they really been bias or have they simple not taking action? Has any NA been kicked off our server for MPKing while a JP was allowed to do it?

Well NAs have been sent to that jail place for stalling while JPs havent :P

Prnt.Scrn is not a third party application.

I like how people bitch and moan and bitch and moan s'more about how much they hate the end-game grind and yet every single day there they are doing the same shit. God, level up another job or something. Do some crafting. Do a mission. There's so much other stuff in the game to do other than this stuff you hate so much. Quit your bitching and find better ways to spend your time. Jesus, this isn't rocket science.

Why level up then Rappa? If not for the end game stuff, there is no point man.

Lets say you take a job, any job, to 70+. Do you not have the right to enjoy the games end game content, gods/hnms/dynamis/whatever, without being harrased or threatened? If not the persuit of 70+ then why play even? (this paragraph not aimed at you rappa, in general i mean :P)

I know you can Prt. Scr. but you have to alt-tab to paste it somewhere. Logging out correctly will null the saved shot (at least it does on my machine). I can still bet they will say you are using a windower or fraps program.

i don't see why using fraps is against the ToS. it's only running in the background and doesn't affect the game in any way. it doesn't help one to cheat and it doesn't give anyone an advantage. they already gave the OK for packet sniffers because it's completely passive. heck, if they want to get technical about software running in the background what about software firewalls. or heck, windows is a 3rd party app that runs in the background while you play ffxi. oh no, ban us all plz.

I'm sorry that address is incorrect. The address they would prefer you send things to is:

Executive Garbage Bin
Square Enix, Inc.
6060 Center Drive, Suite 100
Los Angeles, CA 90045

At least that's where all of our suggestions end up... As if the developers would really care what people hafta say when we continue to pay our 15 a month to keep this game running. Seriously, I bet that on both sides there has been 1000's upon 1000's of things requested and only the inane things get fixed... Like Astral Ring coffers...

Sending development comments/requests to that address would do little good since no development happens at that office (as far I’m aware of). It is strictly the US business office, and I can assure you, if you stick the words racist and racism in there, it will raise an eye brow. If you get no real response from that office, the next step is to take it to the UK corporate office, followed by the corporate HQ in Japan. Also getting game sites to write about it will also help. No company wants the bad press from being considered racist, but enough people will need to commit to this and be willing to speak up and stand behind what they say.

uhh no, it saves the screenshots onto your HD in one of the Playonline folders

No, if you hit 'print screen' then alt+tab, the whole screen (conversations and all) will be still in your clipboard. You can then paste to wherever. It's been a while since I've done that, since I use windower now, but I don't believe it's changed since...

obviously

what i'm saying is the GAME actually saves the screenshots into a Screenshot folder, i'm aware of how print screen works

edit: i believe FFXI uses a different key for capturing a screenshot, instead of the Print Screen key, however it's still able to take screenshots legitmately

The GAME does actually save screenshots into a separate folder. However, the GAME does not allow you to take screenshots of conversations; the default to take a screenshot is Print Screen in the game, however, if the chat log is visible, you will have to remove it (default Scroll Lock) so that the game actually saves the screenie. This is why people use the Print Screen-> Alt-Tab workaround--to capture the chatlog and any other UI elements that removed from the screen when you take a screenshot the built-in way.

A lot of people also use fraps so they don't have t go to that much trouble.

Then why not do the same thing? Are you saying that you cannot out-pull Lucifar? If it is totally legal to stall like that, then do what Lucifar and company do. Find someone to develope your own packet sniffers, hack the files that you need to hack, pray that you get the claim before it spawns BEFORE Lucifar and company can get the claim before it spawns, and you are set.

In all seriousness, we all know that JPN are cheating like hell and GMs do shit about it. If they arent doing shit about it, fight fire with fire. Hopefully FFXI staff will make it impossible for you to use a program in the backround to FFXI. True this will totally negate windowers, parsers, and all that stuff. It totally sucks ass. But until they fix it, we all can guess that within the next few months every single NM on every single server will be camped using these tactics. Unless they fix it... Do you honestly see anyone playing FFXI in 4-5 months? Hmm....

This person is smart. Very well said.

And fraps is the third party program he's speaking about.
