Gay group ejected out of restaurant for kissing.

No Mire, as far as I read the white kids were part of the club. Which is why I was arguing that the fact was less a racial issue and more of a safety issue.
Tha whole "the kids were kicked out cause they were black" thing was something a parent of the kids said. We here in the states I'm sure have camps that cater to minorities, I just couldn't name one.

It couldn't be much of a safety issue if the pool invited them back once the public gaze turned on them. If it was a safety issue before, it's a safety issue now.

Were they being disobedient? Why were they still in the pool if the "white" kids got out when told? Or were they only told to get out after the "white" kids had already gotten out? I think it's probably something you'd only really understand if you were there to see it. It could be a few parents totally exaggerating or it could be entirely racist.

Pretty much. Chances are we'll never know what really happened, because everyone's perceptions are skewed by their own biases.

One side cries racism, the other cries... I have no idea what, actually, since their position is kinda weird. Too many kids, I think it what it boils down to.

Chances are that they're both right.

From what i can gather from the information i can find on this pool there were a few racist comments allegedly made but they were made by the parents of the kids at the pool and not by the staffing of the pool. They were basically overwhelmed. This is going to make me sound like a bit of a racist myself but allegedly many of the black kids were unable to swim and with 65 kids more than the usual and only two lifeguards on duty it was going to be near impossible to ensure the safety of all the people there.

According to the law they would have only been allowed to have 50 people in the pool at once due to the fact that the lifeguard to swimmer ratio is 25 to 1 when most of the people know how to swim properly. With new swimmers it is suggested as low as 10-1.

Although i doubt this was handled properly from the start due to the fact that they didn't find out how many kids were coming that day and that comments were allegedly made... The fact is that if they didn't kick someone out and some kind of an accident were to occur the situation would have been far worse. Largely i believe the racism part of this has been overblown and the actual safety implications have been ignored.

Wasn't it more of a "you're welcome to come back whenever you want"? They probably wouldn't expect them to all come back at the same time.

Why wouldn't they? They're a day camp. All the kids would be coming at once.

Not that the kids want to go back after the way they were treated, of course...

said in the article that the pool people were considering ways of make the safety issue go away, like having more life guards, which is a lot easier to do with advanced notice then when a ton of kids just show up out of the blue.

It's not that you weren't clear. It's that I disagree with you. It's pretty obvious the only reason the PDA was an issue was because the couple was gay. I don't doubt the restaurant's lawyers will argue the PDA was the issue -- what other defense do they have? -- but the plaintiffs' lawyers could tear that to shreds because of what the guard's statement and the threats made by the cops.

Right, and I agree with you. It is obvious why the man kicked them out, I've said this. However, if it hadn't been said that was the reason and the only reason given was PDA, agree with it or not, they (the Gay couple) wouldn't have a case no matter how clearly the situation looked.

I didn't realize the guy doin' it actually blurted that stupid shit out though, in which case their wasn't even a need for the majority of what has been posted in this thread.

They got what they deserved i wouldnt want my kids seeing that shit either.

You wouldn't want your kids seeing PDA or you wouldn't want them seeing gay PDA?

Edit:
Article in OP said:
At about 12:30 a.m. on the morning of June 29, the five men were placing their order at the Chico's Tacos on Montwood when the two men made their public display of affection, sparking the ire of two contracted security guards at the restaurant, police and witnesses said.
If you have your children out at 12:30am on a Sunday night/Monday morning, they should be old enough to deal with PDA or they shouldn't be out - they should be home in bed.
