So what you guys think. It's going to be done by Stuart Beattie who is best known for his success with Pirates of The Caribbean.

It'll probably end up being done in almost full green screen much like 300 was since the world really isn't anything like todays. I think he can pull it off since hes visiting the guys who made Gears and collaborating with them.

Sorry heres a quick link to article I read.

Another game movie thats going to be absolote tosh (Cough Resi Evils)

I think this movie has potential if they approach it right. If they green screen it, it'll make the world of Gears look amazing and that alone would be worth the ticket. The way the story is, if they get the right actors I wouldn't doubt it turnin' out to be an ace movie. Either way, I'm excited.

I always said the overly macho aspect of the game reminded me of the first Predator which is just full of win. The movie has potential as long as people don't expect oscar worthy acting/writting and Uwe Boll stays far far away. :D

They need to stop making games into movies and movies into games. The movies are never profitable or good, and the games are very rarely any good and usually more profitable than they deserve to be.

Most games have the potential to be a movie, the only problem is they always suck. Doom for instance....they had first person lol. Not too mention Uwe Boll or w/e his name is and his terrible films.

The only game movie I really enjoyed was the first Mortal Kombat (which wasn't even that good) and Mario Bros <--- lol

I liked the first resident Evil. It was a decent flick, 2 was horrible, and 3 I haven't bothered watching.

i hate the RE movies, But silent hill was awesome and very true to the game. Thats the only game movie i have ever liked.

Maybe true to the game, but plagued by most games to movies. Terrible acting and some cheesy lines.

Most movie production staffs don't consult the actual video game producers.

I doubt Epic would just hand over free reign.

Gears has its cheesy lines in the game already, once I was playing and Cole chainsawed a Locust and shouted "Meatloaf! Mmm, mm. Nice and fresh!"

I do believe Cliffy B. is the executive producer.

I love those cheezy lines. I find them somewhat realistic. Actually how me and most of my friends speak to each other. I wonder if they'll make the actually "Cole" play in the movie. I hope he be a decent actor.

It wouldn't take a really good actor to shout, "Yeah babby! Try and gimmie some!" or "The train is a smooth ride baby, i'm at home on the raaaaiiiilllssss...."

I think that who ever plays Dom would be the make or break actor.

Bleh, I disagree... some movies turned to games and vice versa I've enjoyed

Res Evil 1 for humor sake, 2 for gore
Super Mario Bro's - Yep, I went there (I thought the movie was fine)
Predator - the game wasn't too bad, the parts I played on PC anyways
300 - haven't played the game but I wanna
The Simpsons - oldschool, thoroughly enjoyable

Those r just 5 off the top of my head I'm sure if I put some thought into it I could come up with others (silent hill). Unfortunately the # of bad movie/game adaptations far outnumber the good (i'll concede that much) bashing the genre as a whole though leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Street fighter was pretty good too.

The cell phone game of 300 was strangely fun, and fairly challenging. I imagine the real game to be like DW, though.

Terry Tate is awesome and would be awesome if he's an actor for the movie.
