"Post this on your DN please.

Hey everyone, Kam again. I'll get an account on your discussion boards soon rather than passing messages through Kea.

I or we, a team putting together Keas new computer, KOS-MOS, have successfully managed to get the game running without problem using the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 graphics accelerator. We are currently running tests but it was not easy. There does appear to be a problem with the PlayOnline Viewer however, but the game seems to run fine, including the menu systems.

I will update more when I have registered on the board about our progress, but I can say this - getting the game working with an 8800 GTX/GTS will require you to spend a little money. Any questions, please email [email protected]. Thanks, Kam."

hmm sound good .. is that the same one you use in Dynamis - Windurst ?

A sure fire fix for 8800 GTX/GTS

Go to /http://www.guru3d.com and DL the newest driver for windows wich is highly beta but works fine as i installed it yesterday and no more bright gleaming menu buttons. Now depending on wich platform and video card you have make your selection carefully.....Norrin

what sort of benchmark results you guys are getting with high-end systems like your kos-mos?

I strive to break the 9999 limit but so far have not be able to pass that in Vanadiel benchmark3 lol

I found that with a system that rates at around ~9500 can run pretty much everything smoothly except the new Aht Urgan areas... it's quite interesting.

We will present the benchmark results of KOS-MOS at the IKEA website when we have fully completed her construction. We have not yet run any benchmarking tests on her as she still lacks many system components and configuration settings at this time.

We do however, have an estimated Vana'diel Benchmark 3 result but is purely based upon the technology we are going to be equipping KOS-MOS with for this project.

More news of her development and testing can be followed at IKEA.

The FFXI benchmarking tool is hardly a well known and well documented benchmarking utility.

To see how your computer scales to other's you should use something like 3Dmark from http://www.futuremark.com/ which are well documented and provide a solid and trust worthy base for comparing your computer to other's.

We will be working with the support staff at Futuremark on the System 7 project and will also be using their product to benchmark KOS-MOS's systems. This however, we beleive this is not related to Final Fantasy and so we are focusing on the games' compatibility, performance and quality using the Vana'diel Benchmark 3 product.

For public information, the highest scoring published to date (of this post) using the Vana'diel Benchmark 3 software is 11,567.

Details of benchmark results from 3DMark06 will be release when System 7 construction is complete.

Agree. Benchmarking the system is one thing, benchmarking the system against the ffxi engine is another... :)
(like Futuremark supports SLI where ffxi engine does not, etc...)

Damn.. 11,567 is nice!!!
I wonder how would your system perform under Vista now that it's officially supported..
since you got a DX10 card it should run well for you lol

My benchmark on XP is around 9500 where on Vista is barely hitting 7000....
This is base on the same hardware and setup, just dual booting into different OS.

But yeah 11,567 is really nice!!! Congratulations!
