Getting disconnected from FFXI a lot ; ;

So since the 25th I've been getting disconnected from FFXI a lot while using windower lite. It isn't my internet connection or router, because it isn't like a normal R0 disconnect. I can still see what is going on in game, everything moves as normal, except for me. I just get the red dot of doom and go poof.

I thought, well maybe it is windower... so I ran FF the normal way, and for several hours, had no issues. Mind you, when I was using windower, I was getting DC'd about every 15-30 minutes. So after a while of having no DCs being unwindowed, I decided to download windower ver 3.3. What do ya know, soon as I ran it, got DC'd again.

I guess I'm going to have to deal with the disconnects because I can't stand not being able to alt+tab out to browse the web while being logged into FF ><

anyone else having strange connection issues?
 
Every so often, my PlayOnline will crash while using Windower, or I'll get disconnected for no reason. I'll go AFK while waiting for a pankration match and come back a few minutes later to a connection terminated message. It started happening... About two days ago. ;x Hope it resolves itself soon.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the accounts they banned for using 3rd party programs etc?
 
I highly doubt it. Honestly, I don't think SE cares too much about people using windower, as they said they'd be introducing their own(Though we've yet to see it.). The third party programs they do care about are the ones that circumvent game mechanics, like teleport/speed hacks, HNM bots, fishing bots to disrupt the (would be)game's natural economy, etc.

It might just be that SE modified something and it just to happened to cause windower to malfunction periodically. :/

well I guess I'll check out archbells website tonight after work and see if anyone else is having issues like we are.
 
If you can get a lead, please share here or at least in game. It's starting to get annoying. x.o;
 
Had the same problem as you. I upgraded the firmware on my router and then made sure all the ports are open on it again. Solved the problem. Havent been DCed in 2 days now.
 
Fuckin' Skieth, I hated that boss.... on topic i cant log on to ffxi atm... it just stops at notifying server of choices.

my husband says our problem isn't the router because the firmware is up to date >.>;

I checked archbells site and didn't find squat lol ><
 
I haven't disconnected in awhile. Maybe it was just random retardation.
 
it was kicking her offline like a soccerball today durring beseiged.
 
You can put the ethernet cable direct to the PC and the connection setting on automatic, that can help you stop so many DCs.
 
My boyfriend has the problem to get online lately. He tries to log in but it times out before he gets to the character selection screen. I don't know thats the reason for this either. I have no problems at all

blah, well we reset the modem and what not, I haven't tried to log in yet to see if I still get disconnectowned.

can't do that, have 4 total PCs on the network lol

Yeah nearly everytime I try to log on. First time only, then it works fine :wacko:
