Has anyone watched this yet? I just bought it during lunch and will be watching it tonight. Anyone have any reviews? Basically I heard that the action is almost non-existant and some of the storyline tries to be too meta-physical. Is that about right?

I will enjoy it soley for it's animation though. 8)

OOOOOO! Tell me how it is. GITS 1 is my favorite anime and the manga was great because it was so philisophical and out-there. I had to read the end like 20 times. By the way, the PS1 game was one of the best games ever and a collectors item now.

I watched the first half of this at a friends the other night. We watched both GITS 1 and 2, so by the time 2 was put on it was already 3am. But what I saw was awesome! The animation is ridiculously good and the plot seemed very interesting,(Unfortunately I was so tired I don't remember much =P). But I most definitely recommend buying this asap.

Well I love the 1st GitS but actually I really dislike the 2nd. The animation is awsome. Very cutting edge. The story itself I think is weak and I was falling asleep half way through it (it was only about 6pm). I'm glad I saw it but I will now have a dvd on teh shelf that will do nothing but collect dust. Try to find a place to rent it from.

This movie rocks. Another benchmark for CG animation out there. Very dark in terms of setting. In terms of action, there's some (well worth it too). It continues the story line from the 1st movie. If you watched Stand Alone Complex, the time line is different. Stand Alone Complex's time line is set where the first movie never occured. It's an action drama, just like the first one. I can't get over how nice the animation is on this one. :D

My roomate bought it last night, we're gonna watch it tonight. I'm psyched.
