"For many online gamers, the point is no longer simply to play. Instead they hunt for the fanciest sword or the most potent charm, or seek a shortcut to the thrill of sparring at the highest level. And all of that is available - for a price."

Dead serious, I think most of us need to sit back and read that a lot. XP

And no jumping on me for emo shit...seriously, think about it! T_T

Here's some QCDN reality. Before I removed the gil seller AdSense ads, the whole ad campaign was twice as successful as it is now. That's about all I can say without to break Google's rules on non-disclosure.

" The global gaming companies regularly shut accounts they suspect are engaged in farming." (p. 2)

can we get one of those companies?

Why doesn't anyone ever notice things like this mentioned? Guilty parties avoiding comment? o.O

I have said it a bunch of times before, the fact that there are sooooo many gil sellers (I currently have 68 domains banned in AdSense, granted, some shops have multiple domains), means that there are a lot of buyers.

Someone else somewhere on here said something along the lines of "I bet every one of us knows someone who buys gil, they may not know that their friend buys gil, but they still 'know' a gil buyer".

With numbers like this I am surprised the gil buyers haven't come forward and done a witch-hunt on those who do not buy gil.

..., in related news, I am just waiting for someone to make a thread about the 'FFXI Gil' ad next to the 'Welcome, <user>.' area.

wow 12 hours 7 days a week and only 250 bucks o.o

Lol, does it show who clicked there? I'm curious how it lines up with all those people who gloat about mpking gilsellers and hate on folks just for being chinese.

No clicker identities are being recorded, in fact, for all I know Google could be shafting every one of their customers by not counting like a click here and a click there. Google AdSense customers do only get the following information; number of impressions, number of clicks, click-through rate in %, effective CPM, and total earnings.

The clicks on the current banner are not being recorded locally either, so again I am relying on the vendor to record the clicks correctly.

Of course I do have raw access logs, and with the appropriate tools it would be possible to extract which IP clicked where. Unless I see a court order issued by a court in Minnesota or Alaska that is not going to happen though.

Why would I want to throw those who support QCDN by purchasing thier gil through QCDN links throw out for the vocal minority to tear apart?

I was tempted to see if any RMT companys would transfer my SWG credits over (30+ mil \o/ ) but thought against it, Gil is always more satisfying to earn, seeing the coins pop up and fill my delivery box after a successful day of AHing is always a satisfying feeling. :)

None of the major players do currency transfers from one game to another, or even from one server of one game to a different server of the same game. They all want you to sell them your current currency at about 1/3 of what they would sell you that currency, then take your money and buy currency for the new game from them.

or two über characters from EverQuest for $35.50

Did I just see uber in the NY times?
