Adds nothing to the community, just another way to show off some e-peen, which is what Rep system is for right?

Amen. Theres hundreds of sites to play arcade games online. I don't think its necessary to have on here.

Shoutbox/Chat room would be amazing. We could stuff Skaw and Uzor in there together and it'd be like a live flameboard.
 
Sounds like GaiaOnline to me although I know lots of other places do it too. It just seems like people would be more likely to spam stuff everywhere and tons of "Bumpz hur 4 gilorz!!" theads.
 
bank system (essentially this with a default name) is a very popular addon for a ton of forums, i think it would work great here.

the cons of doing this though would be that you would have to add some more promotions for subscriptions to the forum

aka, premium/junior members get colored usernames, so do mods, admins etc

with a bank system you could buy lots of awesome effects for your username, everyone could.

obviously this is great but you would kill one of the top reasons for subscribing, other than ads and who really cares about those anyway?

purchasing custom titles can be applied as well.

you would also have to consider what not to add in to the bank, default banks have an item where for a very large amount of "points" (read: gil) you can change the title of ANOTHER user. this would obviously be abused.

all in all it is a great idea but would take a lot of tweaking to do, and would not be worth it if you didn't put in most of the features i listed above (there isn't that much else to do with it)

See, it sounds kinda fun! People need to move away from the arcade thought. There will be no arcade/shoutbox.
 
a shoutbox would be too much, there should be an official offclient chat room though, imo

one maybe administrated by some people to keep the riffraff down

irc or aim perhaps? it was attempted a few times in the past and was rather popular until the thread died

especially on patch days
 
Okie dokie, closin the thread, it seems like people are aiming towards an arcade/shoutbox too much and that's not really what the thread was to entail. But I got feedback on the original questions, so I'm going to back off asking questions about the gil system for now.
