gilfarmers and bot-campers on NM's

As a SAM i strive to be the best in a pt environment, be it skill or equipment.
Ive been trying like mad to get ahold of Ochiudos Kote. Not to sell, mind you,
but to equip and use ! wow, novel concept hey?

However, there are bots that voke the first thing that spawns at each corner
of the platform. those that have been there, must know what Im talking about. So a special "Thank-You" to every jackass that lives fat at the cost
of a good game player not reaching her full potential.

To make this right I've helped a few peeps get the pin off Empy in the dunes.
might not sound like much, but it seems all i can do to spread a little justice in our virtual playground.

When my associates and I return there this week I will jot down names
and post them with the hopes that a few of you expose them with a /sh
the next time you see them in Jueno.

Farming gil so I can buy the kote, day 3, gil earned: 22,134

The worst part is that this hard farming cash will go to one of these
lamers.

Taking all requests to go in there and own sometime, and not leave till all have the item.

Bots are funny to me. They are crap and a cheat for the game... and I like to spam poke on anybody I suspect is running a bot, sending them /tells, etc etc. Is it possible to report bots, or high suspicion of bots, to a GM? I just see fishing bots and it makes me sick. I mean, the ones you poke, /tell, /emote to hell and back and ever even turn to you, or never seem to run out of bait even after I've already gone through about 20 stacks throughout the day or so. I just want to see these people who are getting away with this put to a stop. Hell, if I could stop just 1 bot I'd be exstatic. But it is very possible that I will get /blisted after spamming poke, etc, but once you come back the next day, and the SAME person is standing in the EXACT spot, not having moved an inch and still casts at the same rate, it makes you wonder.

lol Yeah i have had the GM called on me once because I was half AFK studying for finals and i set my macros to do 3 fishes so all i had to do was hit the enter key and hit the macro again after while i paid no attention to my screen what so ever so i didnt talk to anyone and this guy reported me because i didnt reply to his tells and continued on fishing without a break for about 25 minutes, lol i caught the gm's /tell when my rod snapped and i figured ity was time to get out of north sandy.

Unrelated, but a possible solution: Instanced environment!
Make the game player vs. environment, rather than player vs. player competing for available environment.

I am in favor of fishing bots, mainly because I hate the dev who came up with the fishing routing with passion, some little nerd sitting in a cubicle in a windowless office dreaming up ways how to piss players off real good, screw that, give me a fishing bot any day and I will give you an affidavit from my physician that says I can't do repetitive tasks with my hands because of carpal tunnel syndrome!

Anyway, I do agree that spawn farming bots are the devil and unfortunatley there isn't much GMs seem to do about it.

Fishing bots dont really bother me as much as the NM campers.
There are so many places to fish, yet only 1 NM that drops the item that you need!

I will have my Ochiudos Kote, oh yes......I will
Any help on this hallowed item would be much appreciated.

For a SAM, Accuracy > Attack.

Ochiudo's Kote are overrated in the hands of a SAM, and get even worse as you level up (where +20 attack becomes a lot less noticable).

Also, are you sure you can take Mee Deggi at lv40? He will use Hundred Fists, every time you fight him.

I dont plan on taking him alone Ive got help from a 43 PLD and a 41 RDM
Although your info regarding how long I would use them kinda makes me
reconsider the hunt, What do u recommend instead of the kote?
I am currently using centurions finger gauntlets (DEX+1)

first of all, how are you so sure that they are using bots?

second, if you think they are botting just stand near them and cast cure on them. that way they auto target you and if the kote guy pops, you won't have to worry.

I'm not sure your trick is working on voke bots ... I always thought that voke bots emulate the "tab" key to target everything in their range. In this case, the "healing" trick should not work

From what I understand, the macro the voke bots tend to use is something along the lines of targeting the nearest NPC... then provoking.

well, i found a way, that isn t botting to voke really really fast.

and it will voke anything in range, as long as you keep pressing that button. i've beaten RDM with AF hat +dia and many many bst not to mention all the other people who use voke

Hardcore farmers are part of any MMO, and in a way they are what makes the game more accessible for people who just don't have the time, skill, drive, whatever, to get things on their own. That in turn is good for business, even if it is not so great for the remainder of the player base.

another helpful hint. bots ive seen dont hit the tab button at all. (yes i have experiemented with just about everything,) but since it targets npcs.. im not sure if cure-trick works.

i was once accused of fishing-bot because i didnt fell like responding, then after 10 minutes this guy wouldn't stop sending me dumbass telling me dumbass things like hi hi hi hi hi i heart you, want my light staff? have an empororers hairpin, hi hi hi hi hi hi and it wouldnt stop so i respond "SHU THE FUCK UP YOU DUMBASS I'VE LISTENED TO THIS FOR TOO DAMN LONG. (he shut up) yes, no one EVER accuses the 3 tarus in rabao, that all get in the same clothes and fish in the same spot. and they all have the same acorn blond face
