Gillsellers Onto Fuma's Again ><;

Apparently this is their new tactic these days. They tried the same thing with Woodsmans last week, and it looks like they are currently trying it again. Now the number of rings on the AH will build up and plummet the price even lower than the rock bottom 90k that they hit the last time the retards tried to price jack something.

I thought the japanese were supposed to be smart? This is like economics for dummies.

Update: After checking Xicoro http://www.ffxiah.com/player.php?id=1015716 you can see exactly what items are currently being price jacked, or attempted to price jack.

Now, if only there was a website that listed longer AH histories than in game, and also listed player buy/sell transactions so we could see things like this...oh wait! Zingerr!

You know whos to blame? The people buying them.

It's not like they're all that uncommon of a drop in the first place, and if you know they're run cheaper than that, well.. why go for the obvious bait?

Fucking bingo. But as covered in a different thread, it's either due to stupidity, or the other obvious option.

Thats what sucks. If there is some dumbass who will pay that much, or even someone who hasn't played the game in a signifigant amount of time and doesn't know any better, and buys even just one at that price, its a win for the RMT.

On top of that, is this even considered illegal in the ToS?

Been killing WW lately:

1 stave sells per day if you're lucky. They had 9 staves on the AH when I got back from NY last weekend. Price has dropped 250k+

Gay! I bought that for 1m from you.
Mail in Rebate yes pls:rtfm:

Make me an offer I can't refuse ;)

To note, the rotation on the staves goes from stave to stave, with different mules dropping a ton on the market, terra's is just the most recent. While Jupiter's / Auster's have already been hit and not recovered (waivering around 500k for months), terra's was steady just under 700k per for quite awhile (Yes still higher than your zeth).
The price drop I mentioned happened over the period of 10 days - 2 weeks...I had put one Terra's on the AH before I headed to NY, for 680k (1 on the AH at the time. Two days later I checked ffxiah from the hotel to see if it had sold, and ffxiah listed 9 on sale. I hoped it was an error with the system, but alas, it twas not. The same thing had happened to Jupiter's / Auster's as I mentioned, I think at one time there were 13 jupiter's up at once.
I just really don't see how this profits them, besides driving others out of business. Smart WW'ers look for the 1/6 break even ratio (cost of hq's to cost of supplies), and Terra's went from 1/6.5 to 1/4.5 in like I said, 10 days.

we never implied that sellers were smart now did we? but then again if they are profiting from this they must be doing something right. isnt this what happened to the SH?

I've watched them craft though, and they have the same HQ rate as most people who do this. With the ratio's they created, they're setting themselves up for loss for a long time. At a 1/4.5 ratio, if you go 1/4, thats about 50k profit per hq. Multiply this over 9 staves, and thats still only 450k profit, assuming you have decent luck while crafting. In all likelihood, you will end up 1/4.5 or 1/5 or worse 75% of the time, which means 3/4 of the time you're only breaking even or dealing with loss. Its a tier 2 synth, but everyone goes through periods where they are 1/15 - 1/20.

I'm not arguing, just trying to understand. Also note that the ratio's I posted are strict ore price. Most of the gilselling mules buy beads, which is another 30-50k per synth. This would drop the ratio to around 1/3 needed for a break even...if you're hoping for a 50% hq rate for profit, you're not going to be profiting. If I was in this game for my job, and one of my employees did this, it wouldn't be long before that employee was in the unemployment office.

I'm not intending to be bitching about it, just very curious as to why someone who is in it strictly for the gil benefit would set the odds against themselves.
