All right, this is my opinion on the "JP ONLY" personality of JPs and the Gilsellers, and mentioned by other people that a certain JP person claimed this started at the NA release:

1.) This is somewhat true, I SAID SOMEWHAT, OK!?

Reasons why it is somewhat true:

1.) RMT just wasn't around before NA release, because the companies that I know that sell online currency may originate in Asia or Europe, but usually these companies have 80% of their "outposts" in North America.

2.) Just to put it bluntly, the JP over in Japan and other areas just have a different culture than we do, and would probably think it unsportsmanlike to buy gil, though some indeed did and still do buy gil before we came around.

3.) On the issue of fish botting, that has been around before NA release, and they have no room to talk as they use fish and voke bots just as much or more than we do at this current time.

4.) Gilsellers. Again, the companies that sell gil to the NA that buy it, realized at some point that large amounts of JP would buy gil constantly, as NA do ALL THE TIME. Therefore, they didn't bother setting up companies in Japan to do this, YET once NA release came around, they realized that there are American people(usually children), that have 1 goal in all kinds of games. To win, as fast as possible.

We all know about the famous Game Shark cheating systems, and Action Replay for offline games, which allow you to get infinite money, infinite lives, etc. Therefore, these same people come into this game and wish to be the best possible, by buying gil, and some times accounts to start off ahead of others, which again, JP would not in most cases do due to unsportsmanship.

Because of the high demand in America for what probably failed miserably in Japan, IGE and these other companies jumped straight into it, and began deploying the gilsellers as soon as the demand hit.

NOTE: This is NOT the facts, this is my opinion on what I think the facts are.

Discuss?

ratio of racist (towards na) jps to non racist jps is much greater than racist (towards jp) nas to non racist nas

sorry its a fact, as much as people want to come here and show their affection for 'all of the japanese players', there are little to no na players that put 'japanese''perfect dodge''reward' in their search comments, yet i can come up with about 20-30 jps that have 'english''/tell''no thanks' or some derivative in their search comment in the course of 10 minutes

the way i see it, they (the racist jps) dont want us playing the game with them, the economy seemed better when it was just japanese players playing, when you add nearly twice as many players to a server, yes you will have inflation (more crafters are playing, more people are farming and competing with you, prices are going to go higher and higher)

but putting the 'blame' on na players for inflation, MPK, etc is just foolish and ignorant (speaking specifically about the one instance that sparky has in his signature img)

its ridiculous really

i guess

lets all blame the PS2 people lol, cause we all know they are just Poser NA's

I dont think blaming the people who buy the gil is the answer. Its the people who sell it who are the problem, and regardless of where the companies are set up they are not playing a game, they are making a profit. If you take away the people selling the gil, then people who would be buying the gil would probably just quit, since they dont really have the motivation to make it for themselves.

I'm trying to think of a good analogy here... Lets say you buy a pair of shoes. The company you buy the shoes from uses sweatshops to manufacture their product. Since they make such a big profit, they start to put smaller shoe companies out of business. When the smaller, independent shoe companies complain about the first companies labor practices, the first companies response is: "Dont blame us, blame the people who bought the shoes."

Is this fair? Maybe, since you are supporting these practices. Ultimately, though, it is the companies responsibility since they make the decisions on how they do business. Gil buying/selling is along the same lines, sure the consumers do support the business, but if the business did not exist the consumers would have to get their shoes...er, gil another way or just do without.

I'm not sure if that made any sence, but thats pretty much how I look at it.

without the demand there will be no supply XD if people didn't wanna buy it there wouldn't be gilsellers.. it's kinda like.. it doesn't matter which side you think is at fault..both are... Gil Buyers are lazy lazy people.. they too lazy to try and make gil.. which I find fun sometimes ^^ but ya.. gilsellers need to stop fucking with prices >>

IMO.....

how do they cure crack addicts?
do they bust all of the crack dealers in the world?
burn all the crack plants?
raid all the crack factories?
naw....

they take the individual addict and rehab his arse, they show him how to live w/o crack so he can cope and get by...

FFXI ie: dont look to make 1 mil in a day.
look for new methods to cope to not having gil....
1. farm
2. camp
3. exp with friends... you get exp/merits/skill ups/drops
4. make goals for gil a week you can obtain and go for it.
5. dont buy gil?

i believe the term is supply and demand... w/o the demand there is no supply..

ok thank you.

bah! I know what the term is joo silleh taru >_> I was just changing it around

ah.. hehe ^^v okies then *bites Stigmatas* mmm yummeh taru

I can see what you are saying... but really the supply is gil, and its just a question of how to get it. Take away either end, the buys or the sellers, and the problem disappears.

My reasoning is that the buyers are not inherently bad people, but the sellers are. The buyers might otherwise be playing like the rest of us, since if buying gil was not an option they would have to get it the way the rest of us do.

Cure crack addicts? Unfortunatly in America we focus more on criminalizing them and throwing them in jail more than rehabilitation... Unless you are fairly well off. But yeah, rehab is nice and all, but you cant just ignore the bigger, more important side of the issue either.

IMO the bickering about buying or selling is pointless when SE knows damn well what is going on with whom and still does nothing. The blame and ultimate responsibility of fixing the problem rests on their shoulders, and unfortunately it appears they are more than content to let the situation ruin the game for most everyone.
