Girl raped at school for 2 hours with an audience.

Probably because more and more the system is defending the people committing the crimes rather than those being victimized.

Whenever I see a pit bull, even a puppy, I get terrified that it will attack me.

That's really sad, every pitbull I've ever met have been complete mush.

Why was I the only person who called 911 to help the girl upstairs in Fresno when there were other ppl at home in the other apts? Why did no one call for me when Buck and I were being attacked? For the same reason no one helped this poor girl or Kitty or the other girl mentioned in the wiki that was beaten to death in an apt that overlooked where Kitty was attacked...because ppl don't want to get involved...that is isn't their place or their business. I believe the moment you think that, your humanity is lost.

That's the problem, the "I don't want to get involved" or "I feared for my own life", how hard is it to make an anonymous call to the police? No one would even know it was you. The fact that you were threatened after trying to help someone is disgusting.

Good thing you had a German Shepherd and not some piss-ant dog, I've had a couple and they're very protective.

I wasn't terrified of pit pulls before the attack. My best friend had a pit growing up and we used to wrestle with Honey. She would never hurt a fly. After Coco attacked, it turned into a phobia. Even if I try not to be afraid, I still am.

That's understandable. My Doberman/Rottweiler developed a fear of Corgies after being attacked by 2. At least your phobia isn't unsubstantiated.

You shoulda sued the city. Seriously, if the police aren't going to even investigate a claim they aren't doing their job and it's a serious crime. You shoulda done something to make it public too. Let the newspapers know, make it even more known. The police will hate that but it'll make them DO something.

Sadly, these days the best way to get people to do the right thing is to threaten to ruin them in some way. Be it their credibility, their financial aspect, etc. All businesses and government organizations hate bad publicity. If you had told them they don't come and do something about the poor girl being beaten above than you'll go to the newspapers and such. You coulda had the recording from the police call cause they DO record it and such and they can match the voice to the girl. The boyfriend woulda gotten in trouble, the police woulda been in trouble for not only threatening you but not doing their job...

Seriously, if this was anytime in the close past than I'd still let it known -_- and if it ever happens in the future I'd do the same. It's bullshit if people won't do what's right and they should be punished as well as those who do the crime. Not the same punishment but ya.. it's why someone who witnesses a crime and does nothing IS generally considered an accessory to the crime and are punished too.

I was attacked by a friends pitbull last year, it was a pitbull/ boxer mix that had some seriouse problems to begin with, he was known to go off if anyone raised their voices or made quick hand movments.

my friend, and the owner of the pitbull, my friends girlfriend got in a big fight, by the end of it they set zion (the pitbull) off. he went straight for my friends girlfriend and me and my friend had to pull the dog off, in the end i ended up with a nasty bite on my leg and on my side, that i still have scars from today, and my friend got a good one on his stomach, we got off easy tho, my friends girlfriend got the worst of it, she almost lost her left hand compleatly, and spent about a week in the hospital.

so yeah, screw pitbulls.

actaully i here it's pitbull MIXES that usally have the behavior problems, while pure bred pitbulls are less problematic.

as to the school thing, its horrible but it seems thats the world we live in today, people are fucking sick, death penalty for everyone who participated, and seriouse jailtime for anyone that watched and didnt do anything. that won't happen tho.

we need to start giving more serious punishment for rapist, we gotta stop protecting these monsters, we have entire media organizations acting like a writer/director(roman polanski) raping a 13 year old isnt a big deal. i wonder if this was "rape rape" or just "rape" .

Kill every last one of them.

No seriously, this is a horrifying act and all involved should be severely punished...

Nah, hell. One up that. Send them to jail for life and book them with the biggest, baddest lifers in the joint. See how they feel about gettin' beat on and fucked. The state of California could save an electric/chemist bill and just let them off themselves when they got sick of it or beat in.

rapists and pedifiles are a big target in prison actually. Its almost like an unspoken alliance formed to take care of those type of people or so I hear.

Anonymity isnt always as anonymous as they promise it to be. When i was in middle school, a kid brought a knife to school to stab a friend of mine, i told the teacher and a cop who said i would be anonymous, i was called down for questioning and my name was on the police report, the kid with the knife found out i did it.

Not saying what theyre doing is right, but people have every right to prefer to not get involved for their own safety, not saying i wouldntve got involved but many people see it as its you or me, and theres nothing wrong with choosing yourself.

In some cases i would agree with you, but in this case no. any person that could see a girl being gang raped and walk off and do NOTHING deserves nothing short of a bullet to the back of the head. theres a difference between "not wanting to get involved" and being a complete inhuman piece of shit.

That is very sad then. I was more thinking calling the police, you don't have to give them a name. Well, you don't here anyway, they wont make you reveal who you are. I guess in your case, the teacher knew who you were so it really couldn't be helped.

Shame on the police though for putting your name on the report if you had requested to remain anonymous but... did the person really find out that way? More times then not, it is a 'friend' who someone has told that just lets it leak out.

It's not choosing yourself over that other person, it's helping someone who can't help themselves and the possible future victims that may result in someone being "too scared" to come forward, would you prefer that to be on your head?

i think i'd totally lose my shit if i witnessed something like this and did nothing. i'd be haunted by it every time i closed my eyes.
i dont know how someone could look themselves in the eye and say it wasn't worth the risk.

I don't know if any of you know this saying
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing"

Truer words have never been spoken.

Period.

I know I would, all logic, all possible thoughts of saving my own hide would be non-existent.

I've gotten into it over much lesser reasons with large numbers of people. Call me stupid, I just cannot sit by and watch/witness any wrong doing to another life.

Downtown Toronto, club night (Saturday) about 2-3 am, I confronted approx 20ish 'punks', literally punks for 2 reasons. First reason I saw them mis-treating their dogs and trying to get them to fight each other (the 2 dogs). And the second reason was during that confrontation a guy stepped in and got sucker punched for trying to keep them from having his dog fight another.

Nothing major occurred, a shouting fest that nearly resulted in me losing my mind on some twats, cops finally showed up, the dogs were taken from the punks and a couple were taken away for assaulting the one guy.

Seriously, I may have gotten my ass shot, stabbed, jumped. I didn't concern myself with that. There were TONS of witnesses, people in the streets everywhere, and I had my friends with me.

Either way, I just cannot see people/animals being mistreated and stand by quietly. It's just not in my make-up, I'm I guess a crazy bitch /shrugs.

Had I been passing by and figured out what is was I was seeing in some dark corner you bet your ass many many people would know about it right away by the commotion I caused.

I get there are people in the world that are not the aggressive type, meek, shy, cautious, overly-cautious, what have you. There are also others out there like myself and quite a few I know that would easily put themselves at risk for another without a second thought. ... Just seem to be less and less of them, a shame really.

Yeah i didnt share it with anyone else, and i dont think the teacher wouldve gone to look for the kid and told him herself, i went to a rough school so i knew better then to go around telling anyone, friend or not, that i said something.

Phone call would increase the chance of remaining anonymous but now adays people are really paranoid and i can see how the "bystander effect" applies here, however i dont condone it. I dont agree with people saying they should be shot or are pure trash because we dont fully understand everyones state of mind. Do i look down upon those who did nothing? Sure i do, but its not so far fetched to see people act like this.

Now this isnt clearly the same, but im sure many of us have witness a school fight, someone is getting their ass kicked, people are cheering on or watching wether its for entertainment or just to see whats happened, and many people dont do anything to help. I dont think we would be reacting so harshly to people who just witness a fight like that. Granted its not the same situation but these peoples reactions arent all that rare or uncommon.

Id like to think personally that i wouldve done something to help, i really believe i would. People who witnessed this for entertainment and laughed and participated, are disgusting. However i dont think i can condemn those who just turned the other cheek and walked away, or pretended like nothing was going on

If that was my kid being raped there would be a shitload of hell to pay for both the kids involved (audience too) and the staff of the school.

I think the girl and her family would have grounds to press charges and/or sue against witnesses that did nothing.
